A Little Bit Crazy

It was my friend's birthday on Friday (the one who we threw a Murder Mystery party for) and so I treated her to a lovely photo shoot. Unfortunately for us it was freezing cold outside. It was around 20°F outside but the wind supposedly made it feel like 10°F. I don't know how I survived during these pictures without my jacket on; my fingers were about ready to fall off. We must have looked a little bit crazy to the people driving by.

I made her climb into woods on our Livingston campus through branches, logs, and plants with thorns (sorry, Monisha). I think it was all worth it though, haha.

I'm pretty sure I was yelling about the cold in the below photo :P

I have so much Statistics homework to do this afternoon and I have to meet a friend for lunch. Hopefully I'll have enough free time later on today to visit all of your lovely blogs. I miss being able to relax with my laptop and a cup of tea like I did during Winter Break. I've got a lot of catching up to do (in terms of blogging and school work).

Here's two of my favorites of Monisha that I snapped:

p.s. I entered this outfit in the Chictopia Forever Sweetheart contest. I only took one picture with my sign and I look extremely depressed in it, haha. Whoops. Check it out :)

Violet Haze

These pictures all came out with a violet hue (which doesn't help since my shirt is purple). This is one of my favorite shirts because it keeps my arms relatively warm due to the extra long sleeves but it's thin enough to keep my cool. It's more of a Fall or Spring shirt....during the Winter it calls for a lot of layering.

For the most part I'm not a huge fan of using flash during the evening and I make my photographer struggle to hold the camera still while the sun is gradually setting (I edit out some of the minimal blur). I try not to be...but sometimes I think I'm a bossy model since I always have a certain image in my head of how the photo will turn out. I'm a better photographer than I am model. He's quite lovely though and stands out in the freezing cold taking picture after picture just so I can update this silly blog.  I think my photographer and I should switch places, he's much more photogenic. :)

I've decided that I'll post a "remixed" link next to some of my items so I can keep track of my remixing resolution! I'm doing pretty good so far for 2010. I'm shopping online a lot less and wearing things I normally never get around to wearing. :)

It's one of my best friends' 20th birthday today. We just had a surprise party for her that was planned out like a Murder Mystery. I told her a bunch of lies in order to dupe her and it worked! The girls who planned it did such an amazing job (I ended up being the victim of the murder). Happy Birthday Monisha! (I know you're reading this and debating whether or not to leave a hate comment).

Oh! and Thank you to the lovely Taylor for the Beautiful Blogger Award! Another Thank you to Fashion Therapist for the Best Blog Award! Lots of love! :)

Basement

I just realized the other day that I never put my hair up.

I took these shots in the grimy basement of my dorm, yum. I liked the lighting despite the creepiness of the atmosphere. Whenever I go down here to do my laundry I feel like someone's watching me and waiting to jump out and attack...which would actually be pretty cool (as long as i survived that is - with a massive battle scar to show for it of course).

I'm a little bit stressed out and overwhelmed with a lot of things right now but I'm trying to stay relaxed and not worry so much. There's just way too much to think about and not enough time. There's also way too much drama and too many decisions to make. Sigh. I should really be working on my Resume since I'll have to submit one for a couple of things over the next few weeks. This should be fun. :)

P.S. Thanks to Alviana for the International Bloggers Community Award! :)

Triple Threat

Lame title, I know, but I have three T's for this post: Tutorial, Tags, Thank Yous.
1) Tutorial: Sweater [Vest] > Circle Scarf
(The scarf I'm wearing in my last post.)
This is ridiculously simple and easy (and cheap!) I went to my local dollar store and they have a tiny little rack of unwanted clothing. I was looking through and found a Le Tigre men's sweater vest! Even though it was too big I couldn't pass it up (plus I loved the color and it was only $1!) Trying it on back at my dorm I realized it was massive so I decided what the heck, I'll just cut it up into a circle scarf!

I didn't get around to hemming the scarf due to my lack of thread and needle but I'm satisfied with my simple, cheap, and cozy circle scarf. Ridiculously easy, yeah? :) Here's another picture of the final result:

Gray Winters

It's still cold out but it hasn't been windy lately which makes it alright. I've recently reconnected with these old earmuffs of mine and I've fallen in love with them all over again (and they come in handy when you don't want to listen to someone talk - just makes it seem like you're trying to stay warm ;) )

Sorry for so many pictures in this post. My Photographer kept on snapping shots since he knows I love candids, and since I'm a very indecisive person I didn't know which ones to pick.
My first week of classes is finally over! I actually don't mind most of my business classes now (just statistics - kill me now) and I'm getting to know a few people who have the same schedule as me. Next year I'll be living off campus in an apartment and we're signing the lease tomorrow morning! I'm excited (although paying the security is never any fun).

(coat forever 21, skirt wet seal, circle scarf diy, tights forever 21, shoes ann marino)

I can't believe the first month of 2010 is almost over already. I'm still not over the fact that it's a new year. My friend caught me writing the date as 2009 the other day on my notes. Well...I have a huge list of things to do for this weekend, plus a few fun things here and there, so off I go! :)

Midnight Florals

These pictures are the last of my old ones (the rest might actually be what I'm wearing the day I'm posting it! haha). I took them around midnight after a Winter Formal I went to and it was freezing outside! I took some shots though anyway because I was in love with this dress.

I decided to post a silly one down below. When it's cold I get a little crazy and impatient...my photographer honestly has a really hard time getting decent pictures of me haha :)

It was the first day of classes yesterday and I already know I'm going to hate these business classes for the most part. I mean, it'll be beneficial to me in the future and such but at the present it really isn't doing me any good. I'm going to have to start reading that Wall Street Journal and the NY Times and actually try to understand what they're saying. Oh boy. Well I'm off to my only class for the day in a few minutes (Intro to Supply Chain - a new course). This is going to be exciting.....

(motorcycle jacket forever 21, floral dress h&m, heels jessica simpson)

P.S. Thanks to Fashion My Legs for featuring me on her blog a few days ago! Go check out the article. She has a great site with tons of advice and features on legwear! :)

The Way You Move Ain't Fair You Know

So these pictures are also a bit old. They were back from December when I was walking to the train station (actually the train station is towards the opposite direction but I pretended to walk in the other direction because I liked this background better, shh). I kept it pretty simple since I had to change into formal wear right when I got into the city (it was for my best guy friend's dance in Columbia if you guys remember).

(coat american rag, vest julia's closet, white l/s forever 21, jeans delia's, ruffle flats payless)

I was supposed to move in yesterday but my plans backfired due to the wisdom tooth complications I told you guys about that have been plaguing me for the past 5 days. I'll probably move my stuff in today, and then officially move in tomorrow...when classes start. (My parents are still hoping I won't move in for another week so I can heal properly) I'm definitely not looking forward to my busy schedule this spring semester. I have two classes from 5 until 8 from Monday to Thursday. WHEN IS DINNER?!?! I'll be sneaking food into my classes.

So anyway, a quick update about my Wisdom Tooth. My oral surgeon finally decided to start ALL over again and did a whole process which I won't describe since you guys might be eating. So now I'm not bleeding anymore, how amazing is that? (I really hope I didn't jinx myself). Crossing my fingers I'll be eating my delicious chicken taquitos in a week or so! Here's a BIG INTERNET HUG and a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for leaving me lovely supportive comments throughout this whole surgery. :)

I love this train shot my photographer took. I was yelling at him to get the picture (I'm so nasty) and kept telling him to take a picture while the train was passing so it'd have the blur effect while I'm standing still. Definitely not a candid shot, haha. And since this photoshoot was very Train themed...I decided to post the video for one of my new favorite songs by Train (Hey, Soul Sister). It's amazing and never fails to make me smile. Listen :)

Shadows

I took these pictures about a month ago before it snowed outside. The sun was setting and the lighting was absolutely gorgeous so I decided to take a picture of our shadows. There are a bunch of other silly ones but I don't want to make this post too picture heavy.

Wisdom Tooth Update: I was supposed to be better by now but unfortunately the blood won't clot where my upper left wisdom tooth was removed (sorry if you're eating while reading this). Therefore, I had to go back in yesterday for two shots and a stitch. Unfortunately that didn't really help at all so i went back at night for two more shots and two more stitches. It helped for a little while longer but then all throughout the night I bled. I'm going back this afternoon and I've lost all hope. I bet I'm going to become accustomed to the taste of blood pretty soon and become a vampire.

My photographer thought it was funny that i was wearing a romper so he made me pose for this shot:

I can't wait until I can eat food again. I've never been skinnier in my life. I swear, I have a barbie doll's waist and It's very frightening. I was watching a movie with my parents last night and every time someone ate something on TV I cried a little bit inside. I have to move back into my dorm on Sunday so I have two days to recover. At least the swelling has gone down and I don't look like Quagmire anymore.

(coat american rag, cardigan american eagle, romper urban outfitters, skirt wet seal, tights hue, ruffle flats payless)

Oh! and here are some photos I took of my photographer that day too. He was being all clever and tied his scarf like a tie:
