6/15 | Sky Blues
I just realized how dangerous it can really be to wander around to the sketchy, abandoned areas of my town and take self-portraits. Especially dressed up. Every time I leave the house with my tripod my mom always warns me to be careful. I should just bring a baseball bat with me (because I'm too good for pepper spray). Or maybe those two years of Karate I took will actually pay off.
These shots were taking behind the local VoTech school in their greenhouse area. It's hidden way back near the woods so there weren't people around to stare suspiciously at my tripod that can often be mistaken as a machine gun when the legs aren't extended...but not really.
(chambray shirt [remixed] gap, t-shirt [remixed] forever 21, skirt urban outfitters, wedges reaction by kenneth cole, necklace simply vera via kohl's)
I'm not sure why I randomly busted out into dance moves while my camera was clicking away.
I've got a busy weekend coming up! In a week I'll be off to St. Louis, Missouri for a week-long convention so I'm cramming in hours at work and hang outs with friends. I just came back from covering another girl's shift. In a couple of hours I'm gonna head out to party it up with some high school friends I haven't seen in a while. :)
Hopefully I'll have some time to catch up with you guys this weekend.
P.S. The favorite of looks 1-5 was #2 with 40% of the votes! My personal favorite was #1. ;)

love your necklace and your skirt, it's lovely.
ReplyDeletewuah, you brave girl, you.
tripod = machine gun? ^^;
didn't taught about it before.
9 to go!
i think this is my new favorite! the colors are just so easy on the eyes!!! and i love how your outfit contrasts with the background behind you :) i just got a tripod today so i totally know what you mean about it looking like a machine gun hehe!!
ReplyDeleteYou look so wonderful! That skirt is so cute, and I love the chambray top :)
ReplyDeleteTripod machine guns are really useful to have. If someone creepy ever approaches you, simply stand behind it and move it around like you're aiming at them.. buwahaha.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I like the airyness of your outfit. That skirt is super duper super wooper (pokemon reference) CUTE. :D As is how you tied the top.
I love this look Jen, one of my favourites so far from the challenge. The skirt is really cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't worry, I will post pics of the new place soon.
love the chambray top!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Missouri.
Love the pale color combo, and the shirt tied at the waist. I have tried tying my shirt that way before, and I just can't seem to pull it off. I'm actually pretty jealous of how well it works on you.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The necklace is so edgy and cool whereas your light blue colors and girly pattern are very sweet and adorable--I love that combination! :D It's my favorite thing to do to edge out girly outfits.
ReplyDeleteI love the tied off button down - I must try that sometime.
ReplyDeleteI hope the creepers stay away and you don't have to resort to baseball bats.
Chic on the Cheap

i'm in love with the denim button down.

ReplyDeleteI'd never thought of disguising a tripod as a machine gun. Although they're both used for shooting...okay, bad joke :P
Eek how scary! I've never been able to take outfit photos anywhere outside of my backyard...when no one is watching!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The tied denim shirt is so cute! Also, random dancing during photoshoots is always fun. :)
