15 for 15: Looks 6-10

2/3 of the way done! Now I'm gonna go to sleep, wake up in 7 hours, and catch a plane to St. Louis, Missouri! I should really start packing...shouldn't I? Be back on the 8th! Keep an eye out for my guest posts and occasional appearances! :)

10/15 | Home Sweet Home

I decided to take some indoor shots for once (mainly because it was raining outside and I was too lazy to scout out a location). So I introduce to you...my foyer. Is that what it's called? There's the coat closet to your right and a little table with fake flowers to your left. And check out that outlet near my feet. Classy, right?

I'm officially 2/3 of the way through my challenge and I still have just one item that I haven't styled yet (the Heritage 1981 Plaid Tunic/Dress). I'll be sure to get to that sometime during the next five looks. Speaking of the next five...they won't be here for a while. I'm leaving Saturday morning to St. Louis, Missouri for a convention! It's for a club that I'm a part of, Circle K International, and I'm pretty damn excited as nerdy as it sounds. I'll be gone for a week until the 8th of August so blogging will be quite difficult. Even though I'll be able to get internet service if I bring an Ethernet cable, finding time to blog will be the real problem. Don't worry though, I found a few lovely people to guest blog next week so you guys won't be bored with my update-less blog! I'll try to drop in every now and then as well. :)

And do you notice this fabulous ring? I won a giveaway hosted by The Owls Are Not What They Seem a while back ago and they sent me this PopKo Glitter Ring! It's definitely a statement piece and I'm pretty sure I'd be able to knock a sucker out with this thing.

9/15 | Dynamic Duo Numero Six

That's right! Jasmine and I managed to sneak another Dynamic Duo into both of our challenges using the same sailor top that I can't get enough of. I love that we both paired the top with a dark skirt but in different ways. This is Jasmine's 14th look (she's doing the 21 for 21 challenge) and this is my 9th look (I'm doing the 15 for 15 challenge). I'm almost 2/3 of the way there! I have to say I'm definitely learning the value of my clothes and the benefits of remixing.

I remember my high school days where each item of clothing would have an assigned outfit. Every time I wore a specific top, it would be in the same exact way I always wore it. Thinking back on those days I'm surprised I didn't get bored of the same looks repeated every two weeks! Don't get me wrong, I still have those guilty days where I repeat an outfit (you guys just don't see it posted!) but now I use one item to create various looks. You get so much more out of your clothes and the need to buy more and more vanishes - although, I have to admit, the want never completely disappears.

Guess where I took these pictures? At my middle school - again. This time the track wasn't occupied by random citizens doing push-ups or taking an afternoon stroll so I decided to occupy it with a little asian girl and her tripod. There was an abandoned desk nearby (and a chewed up pencil I probably shouldn't have picked up) so I decided to take some shots there since my suspenders gave my look a little bit of a school-girl feel. :)

I just wanted to point out how much I love Jasmine's white oxfords from Aldo. I still have yet to find that perfect, affordable pair of oxfords for the fall! I've been craving a pair for about half a year now and I was hoping my craving would eventually disappear. Unfortunately, it hasn't.

The fedora I'm holding in my pictures is from a giveaway Lora hosted on her blog: In Bug's Drawers. I love it to death but there's just one problem...my head is too big. :( Don't laugh, it's seriously a problem! It wouldn't be so bad if my head was so big because of all the knowledge inside of it. I'm pretty sure it's just full of absolute nonsense though.

Oh, and I would just like to point out how ridiculously sexy my white mini-van is looking in my photos.

8/15 | Cause It's One, Two, Three Strikes You're Out

I know. I've been wearing these wedges a little too much recently but I can't help it. The height is sort of an addiction (and the comfort as well). These pictures were taken at my middle school (again), but this time I chose the baseball field as the setting. As a kid I used to have neighborhood baseball games in my backyard during the summer. I was a horrible pitcher but an excellent batter. Now I'm just horrible at both.

I was going to turn these shots into a .gif but some how I couldn't get it exactly the quality I wanted it to be (or the size I wanted it to be). I'm sure you can picture it in your head anyway. :)

I'm sorry I haven't been able to find time to catch up with everyone's blogs! I've been keeping busy lately with work and friends that by the time I get home I'm ready to pass out. Tomorrow isn't any less busy but maybe I'll do one of those "picture an hour" posts that I've been dying to do for the longest time.

7/15 | Brick by Brick

So, I barely put anything thought into this outfit and just threw everything on. For some reason it ended up being one of my favorites so far in this challenge! I guess sometimes my instinct helps me stay true to my personal style. This outfit is ridiculously comfortable and casual and that's exactly how I like to be. 24/7. And so maybe it also has to do with this brick wall. I don't know why, but it seems so much more epic than all those other brick walls in the world. I borrowed it from my middle school.

My middle school is starting to become one of my favorite places to take pictures! Well...only after 3pm when it's deserted and there aren't any summer programs going on or people working.

(cardigan [remixed] h&m, tank [remixed] american apparel, skirt [remixed] forever 21, belt urban outfitters, wedges [remixed] reaction by kenneth cole)

So I have to admit, I'm pretty damn exhausted right now. On Friday I went to sleep at 4:30 AM (so technically it's Saturday) after a night of way too much fun, then woke up at 7:30 AM in order to head home, take a shower, then drive an hour to attend a Picnic for my club. Then Saturday night I went to bed at 1:30AM (making it Sunday) and then woke up at 5:30 AM in order to watch hot air balloons take off! Now I'm sitting here and trying to stay awake because I'm stubborn and refuse to take a nap. My bed is looking mighty comfortable right now but I've got a lot to do! Just watch...I'll be passed out on my bed within an hour.

6/15 | Sky Blues

I just realized how dangerous it can really be to wander around to the sketchy, abandoned areas of my town and take self-portraits. Especially dressed up. Every time I leave the house with my tripod my mom always warns me to be careful. I should just bring a baseball bat with me (because I'm too good for pepper spray). Or maybe those two years of Karate I took will actually pay off.

These shots were taking behind the local VoTech school in their greenhouse area. It's hidden way back near the woods so there weren't people around to stare suspiciously at my tripod that can often be mistaken as a machine gun when the legs aren't extended...but not really.

(chambray shirt [remixed] gap, t-shirt [remixed] forever 21, skirt urban outfitters, wedges reaction by kenneth cole, necklace simply vera via kohl's)

I'm not sure why I randomly busted out into dance moves while my camera was clicking away.

I've got a busy weekend coming up! In a week I'll be off to St. Louis, Missouri for a week-long convention so I'm cramming in hours at work and hang outs with friends. I just came back from covering another girl's shift. In a couple of hours I'm gonna head out to party it up with some high school friends I haven't seen in a while. :)
Hopefully I'll have some time to catch up with you guys this weekend.

P.S. The favorite of looks 1-5 was #2 with 40% of the votes! My personal favorite was #1. ;)

Sponsor Feature: Last Boat Leaving

Just giving a quick shout out to one of my newest sponsors, Last Boat Leaving! Allison has the cutest etsy shop with a ton of unique items, from dresses to accessories. There's even a John Lennon canvas painting up for sale that was actually painted by her brother! I love it and it'd be perfect hanging in a dorm room or the living room of an apartment. I think it's awesome that his art is for sale since it's nice knowing who the artist is rather than buying a mass-produced replica from Target (I still love you, Target!).

My absolute favorite items in her shop are these cameo-styled rings! They're adjustable to any size and I can't get over how beautiful they are. I can't wait until my shopping ban is over because if these are still available I'm snatching them up!

Don't forget you can use the code "JENNI31" for 15% any item! :)

5/15 | Dynamic Duo Becomes Sailors

So I'm beyond excited that Jasmine and I were able to incorporate a Dynamic Duo into our 15 for 15 (21 for 21 for her) challenges!  I'm head over heels in love with this shirt and I'm so glad Jasmine pointed it out online. I can't stop wearing it and I'm sad it's going into the wash. When it comes out it'll be mine again though - bahaha. Hopefully we'll be able to sneak in another Dynamic Duo with this shirt sometime soon before our challenges are over! Definitely go check out her 21 for 21 looks! I love the items she picked out to remix. :)

I went to the beach for these shots with my friend Jess. The weather was supposed to be Thunderstorms all day but we needed a relaxing day so we went anyway. I swear, the weather was beyond indecisive. One minute it was drizzling, then the sunshine came pouring down, then it was cloudy, more sunshine, more drizzling, and then finally the day ended with downpour. I'll post some more beach pictures in my next outfit post. :)
