Day in the Park

So my Memorial Day weekend is turning out to be pretty chill. There's not really a lot going on and I'm just bonding with my family for the most part. I'm also becoming quickly addicted to Glee. A ton of my friends have been obsessed with it and I swore I would never turn into one of them. I just watched four episodes in a row and I think I'm about to watch another one. I'm pretty sure I have a ton of work I should be doing but I just can't help myself! Don't judge me but I'm officially a gleek.

(vintage top little ocean annie, skirt urban outfitters, belt forever 21, shoes target)

I got this adorable striped vintage top from Annie's etsy shop. All the pieces are beyond adorable (if only I had more money to spend) so definitely go check it out. She has a blog too! Her pictures are always fantastic and I love seeing where she takes all her photos. :)

This time I didn't have to resort to self-portraits. Two of my friends, who are beyond amazing by the way, and I went to the nearby park to catch up and relax. They took turns trying out my camera and snapping shots. I snapped a shot of them as well. I feel like I'm looking a little awkward in these photos, especially since we were all a bit awkward taking these pictures, haha. Oh, and thanks, Pooja, for the shot of me emptying the grass out of my shoes. <3

I went shopping today and got some giveaway goodies that I'm so excited to share with you guys. Be on the look out for it in the next day or two!

Also, if you haven't gotten a chance to check out Sway yet, definitely do! Get a chance to be part of an upcoming community where you have a say in what dresses are hot and which ones aren't (and they're up for purchase at wholesale prices - just for you guys!). And the cherry on top is the $10 off your first purchase and a free dress once someone you get to sign up buys a dress! Sign up now! Sway officially launches in the fall and you have no idea how excited I am! :)

Lawnmowers and Hikers

It's hot outside. I'm craving a trip to the beach but none of my friends dare to go to the beach on Memorial Day weekend; parking is impossible and finding a decent spot on the beach will be hell. Why does the weather have be perfect for the shore this weekend? Why?!?

As you can see, it took some time for me to get the hang of self-portraits without a remote. The first few pictures aren't completely focused while the rest of the pictures are. I realized I would have to use manual focus instead of auto focus and it worked a lot better.

While taking pictures I thought it'd be funny if I took a shot of me jumping. Right after taking the shot, I turned around, and the lawnmower was staring at me. Definitely didn't realize he was mowing the lawn. By the way, I'm at a park near my house. You'll see a lot more of my town with my summer pictures.

I'm now going to try to enslave all my various friends as photographers. More and more of them are slowly learning about my blog and it's hard to keep it hidden from my friends. I'm learning to stop being so embarrassed about it as well.

You know what I haven't done in a while? A good ol' giveaway. I'm gonna start concocting some ideas! :)

Oh! And just a quick shout out to my newest sponsor, Aimi Boutique! They have the cutest apparel, shoes, and accessories (it's where Jasmine got the Robot necklaces for our latest Dynamic Duo)! Check them out! (could that sentence have any more links? haha)

I Could Really Use a Wish Right Now

These are the last set of pictures taken by my photographer and from now on you'll see my failed attempts at self-portraits around my hometown. I was actually taking a few pictures in the nearby park and a guy started mowing the fields and got into a few of my shots. Whoops. I guess I should find more secluded places but we'll see how that goes. I also need to purchase a remote (it's on backorder - sigh). The plus side of not having a remote though is all the exercise I get running to and away from the camera in between shots.

I keep on forgetting that it's summer time and that if I step out of my house I'll melt. All I want to do is go to the movies and sit in the air conditioning with a pile of overpriced junk food. I really should stop though considering a ticket is over $10 now. It's kind of ridiculous.

So the necklace I'm wearing in this picture is from Lushae Jewelery and it's beyond amazing. I checked out their site about a month ago upon request and I was able to pick out one piece of jewelry. I knew right away that I wanted a necklace since I'm lazy and rarely change my earrings. This one caught my eye and I've been loving it ever since I picked it up in the mail room.

I'm not much of a jewelry person but this necklace I love. It came in a cute little box and it was sitting on black velvet padding (I'm a sucker when it comes to packaging). It sparkles in the sunlight and I adore the autumn-like colors of copper, silver, and gold. The quality is great and the prices are even better! If you're looking to get someone a beautiful gift or something for a special event, I would wholeheartedly recommend ordering from Lushae. They have quite the selection (they even had a pig necklace that my 7th grade self would snatch up).

Oh! And don't forget to check out Sway (I mentioned them in the previous post). It's their Grand Opening today and I'm beyond excited!!! Join the community today and spread the word! You don't wanna miss out ;)
Plus, if you sign up now you get a free $10 gift card towards any purchase!

p.s. I'm obsessed with Airplanes. I have it on repeat. :)

Introducing...Sway!

Introducing...Sway!

As many of you have probably noticed, a lot of other bloggers have been mentioning Sway, which is a online women's fashion retailer that gives us women the ability to be both the designer and the buyer. It actually sounds really awesome: everyday they present an item of Sway clothing and if you join the Sway community you get to experience a 24-hour flash sale (discounted price) to determine if it's hot or not? Afterwards, it's sold to the public at full retail price. Not to mention their dresses are gorgeous.
Check out the video below for some behind the scenes footage of their most recent photoshoot:

They should be launching on Wednesday so definitely stop by and check it out. :)

Why, hello there!

So, I'm finally back from a week spent at Circle K Leadership Academy and it was beyond amazing. Granted I'm exhausted from lack of sleep, but I've never been so full of love and separation anxiety as I am now.

Every single person there had something special about them and I honestly have never felt better about who I am as a person. I don't mean to sound corny or anything, but I feel like I can love myself a little more and be okay with some of my many insecurities. I laughed way too hard and I cried way too much. I want to go back and relive every moment.

I want to give an extra shout out to my absolute favorites: Sonya, Eric, Gloom, Tom, Ryan, and Justin Beebs. <3 (Since one or two of them memorized my blog url). I miss you guys way more than you can imagine and you guys keep popping up randomly in NJ even though you're all thousands of miles away. Thank you for making this week such an amazing and unforgettable experience.

(here's a silly one for you guys)

But anyway, summertime is here and it's gorgeous outside! I gotta rush to eat lunch and get ready because I'm driving north to visit my photographer today. I'm missing him tons. I promise I'll catch up with you guys as soon as I get back! I feel so disconnected from you all :(

Dynamic Duo: Part III

That's right, another Dynamic Duo (we're on a roll). Not only are we remixing the same necklace, I'm wearing an old cardigan of Jasmine's that she passed along to me! It's beyond cozy and I love wearing it. Once again, we're stuck in similar color palettes. I'm still waiting for the day where we stop slightly matching. Even the pictures we took of the necklace are similar. Jeez.

But anyway, Jasmine had ordered this little robot clock necklace on etsy and the the arm fell off the first one. The seller kindly offered her a new one and the second one came my way for our dynamic duo! I think they're beyond adorable; her's is Louie and mine is Freddy.

(blouse vintage, belt vintage purse strap, skirt urban outfitters, oxfords payless)

How god damn adorable is Jasmine? I love that she's wearing her mother's vintage purse strap as a belt. And, yes...I am wearing my glasses. Weird, right?

Anyway, I had my last final yesterday and moved out! I'm finally home and damn, does it feel good to sleep in my own bed. I'm going to be catching up with friends all day today and then catching up with your bloggers tonight! Unfortunately, I'll be taking another hiatus though since I'll be in Indianapolis from Friday-Wednesday for a Leadership training. Hopefully I'll get internet up there though and make time for an update. :)

I'm drowning in Statistics.

(trench DKNY, chambray shirt dress H&M, belt Zara, moccasins minnetonka, bag forever 21

I apologize for the wrinkles on my shirt. I don't have an iron at college and I was sitting down all day.

As I was sorting through and editing my pictures, I realized how different my pictures end up depending on who takes the pictures. This time I had one of my best friends, Monisha, take my pictures as my usual go-to-photographer was a little busy. You might have seen her before on my blog. She likes mimicking the photographers you see in movies by taking a picture literally every second. She's crazy and I love it (although taking so many pictures results in quite a lot of, err, interesting photos of me).

I had a little photoshoot with her as well (I always miss having my camera in my own hands) and here's one of my favorites that I took of her.

Back to studying and dying a slow and painful death.
Two more finals and I'm finally done.
I'll be back soon, I promise.
