SLIDER

JennifHsieh is a space for my rambling thoughts and snaps of my everyday style. I'm based in Astoria, Queens and I share a home with my two derpy cats and my equally derpy fiancé.

Bright City Lights

I took these photos about 2-3 weeks ago when I went into the city to have dinner with one of my closest friends (NYC Restaurant week FTW!). He really liked the circular pattern on one of the buildings behind me (you can barely see it in some of the pictures) so we chose this spot. It took a while since we had to wait for moments where there weren't any people walking on the sidewalk. I bet we looked like those Asian tourists hitting up the big city (which will be me, Jasmine, and Jenny in a couple of weeks)!

(dress modcloth, heels jessica simpson, dove necklace vatican museum gift shop)

This dress is one of my absolute favorites (maybe since it kind of fulfills the void in my heart from never finding a dark green prom dress back in the day). It's the only thing I've ever ordered from Modcloth and I have to say I'm in love with it! Now I might do some more shopping there - if only it was more within my budget. I gotta save up my money for that camera I want!

But anyway, I finally moved in my on campus apartment yesterday and finished unpacking for the most part. I just have to go home and pick up a few things I forgot - especially my extra clothing rack since I still have a bulging suitcase full of clothes (and more at home). Oh jeez. And I still have a problem figuring out what to wear today. I'll be sure to take pictures of my room once my roommate gets her shit together (love you, Monisha). Oh, and I'll be sure to take pictures of my new hair cut as well. :)

I better find a way to get breakfast since my kitchen is barren and I have to leave for my internship training in a bit. Can you say Dunkin' Donuts around the corner? Om nom nom doughnuts.

  5. I love, love, love Jessica Simpson heels. They kill me though. And that dress! It's absolutely precious.

And the whole waiting for people to stop walking - I feel you completely. I went to New York maybe three weeks ago? And the whole time I was like "hold on, don't take the picture yet. People are walking and they're going to judge me."

  6. I'm also saving up to buy a new camera. I want a, as I call it, "professional camera." I've got a simple sony camera, and it does it's job, but I'd like more detailed and focused pictures. Like your beautiful photos! :D I love the floral dress. It falls perfectly on you.

The best part about NYC? The fact that there are Starbucks and DD on practically every corner...well, maybe it's the second best...

You tend to wear a lot of flats, which always look great, but I have to say that you really look spectacular in a pair of heels!

  29. Oh my god! Your legs are a million miles long. I'm going to super asian it up with you and Jasmine if that's okay with you guys! Congrats on your new apartment and the start of a new year. I'm envious of all the fun that the start of a new year of school brings, even though I know you're probably way too motivated and on top of things to be as stupidly and happily lazy as I was in college!

  34. I doubt you looked like traditional Asian tourists because there are so many style hunters and sartorialists who capture style on the streets at any given moment in NYC. The only way that could've been possible, is if your friend had one of those cameras with the telephoto lenses that takes an army to hold up and he was doing those "Poo Squat" old Asian Men poses to take a good photo of you.

Otherwise, I'm sure you were both safe.

You look like such a poised, graceful girl. You could be on Sartorialist.

Also, you look so chic and classy and adorable. YOU WORK THOSE HEELS GURL. (Mostly because I'm the biggest fail at wearing heels - and you rock 'em!)
