JennifHsieh is a space for my rambling thoughts and snaps of my everyday style. I'm based in Astoria, Queens and I share a home with my two derpy cats and my equally derpy fiancé.

Spill Kisses Like a Fountain

While sorting through clothes with my mom the other day I found one of her old vintage skirts. She was going to give it away but I couldn't bear to pack it up since the fabric was so gorgeous. Plus, it's a way for me to always remember my mom when I'm not living at home. I decided to wear it as a dress instead of a maxi skirt since I'm still iffy about maxi lengths with my height.

Well I'm off to go on an early morning shopping date with my madre. She wants to leave early while I just want to lounge around. I'm on the hunt for business suits that don't make me look like I'm playing dress up. Wish me luck! :)

  7. Ugh, gorgeous! I know what you mean though, I did the same last summer with a maxi skirt I found! I'm still on the hunt for a decent maxi skirt that I can pull off... ish... right?

P.S. Check out Banana Republic's petite line for suits. Opt for a skirt suit too, they look much more pull-offable for our height :)

  8. That skirt as a dress is so romantic. My parents were world travelers, never able to hang on to very much, and nothing that my mom had when she was my age is still in her possession now, which is sad for me because I am the same size now as she was then. I imagine wearing something your mother wore is quite special.

  12. Have fun on your (early; eeep!) shopping adventure, Jen! I absolutely adore that skirt-turned-dress. It's got such a lovely pattern, and it's really nice that you can think of your mom via your clothes. Little memories like that are always fun! Oh, and I;m totally loving those shoes!
