We Can Make It Somehow

My commute to work this morning was a ball of stress. The subway line that I usually take to work was delayed for quite some time due to a signal malfunction at a stop a few miles away. What does that mean for the morning commuter? Time to find other methods of transportation in order to get to work on time. This leads to insanely long lines for every single bus going downtown as well as taxis being hailed every which way. Luckily, I ran into my co-worker who lives in the same complex as I do, so we endured the crowded and slow-moving bus to work together. Misery loves company, right?

My old college roommates and I decided to sign up for a gym together as a way to prep for our trip to Miami in April. Well, more like we decide to sign up for a bunch of free trials at various gyms around near our individual offices in the city. We were supposed to meet up for a Zumba class after work today but both of them ended up having to stay late at work. After forgetting my sneakers for Monday's work out, I thought this was yet another sign that I wasn't meant to exercise. And just as I was about to gorge myself in junk food I thought, maybe I'll just exercise from home. So I pulled up a Zumba exercise video on YouTube (the instructor had a british accent so I figured that would keep me motivated - everything is better with an accent) and sweated my butt off for an hour. I felt like an idiot but within the confines of my own bedroom, which allowed me to be completely shameless. No one else needs to see me rocking those dance moves and swinging my arms from right to left.
