The Montreal Diaries: Lazy Days + Noms

After spending the previous day bike-riding for three hours and walking all over Old Montreal, it was needless to say Jeremy and I were absolutely pooped the next day. We had big ambitions to walk over a mile to get bagels, walk another mile up to the top of Parc du Mont-Royal to see the beautiful views, and walk yet another mile to get poutine at La Banquise. Did it happen? Not quite.

On our way to get bagels in the morning, we realized that we underestimated our energy and ended up stopping by the famous Schwartz's Deli instead for some incredible smoked meat. Now I can see why they have an entire musical inspired after them. Not to mention the wonderfully welcoming staff - I could see myself being a regular there if I lived in the area. We retreated back to our room to rest up for the rest of the lazy afternoon before wandering over to another nearby park.

But don't worry, we still made our way to La Banquise because we couldn't come all the way to Montreal and get some of the best poutine. Amirite?
