SLIDER

JennifHsieh is a space for my rambling thoughts and snaps of my everyday style. I'm based in Astoria, Queens and I share a home with my two derpy cats and my equally derpy fiancé.

Throwing It All the Way Back

Forever 21 Denim Jacket (similar), Urban Outfitters Oatmeal Cropped Sweater (similar), Floral Maxi Skirt via My Mom (similar), What Time? Watch c/o Rakani (similar), Urban Outfitters Suede Fringe Crossbody (similar, similar), Pale Pink Heels c/o LuLu*s (similar)

This past Summer, my entire family packed up their bags and moved out of my home in New Jersey where I spent over a good decade of my life growing up and being an angst-filled kid. Now that they're all the way on the west coast, it's not as easy as a two-hour train ride to see them. To keep them close despite the distance, I made a point to take as many little things from the house before they made the big move, one of the things being this skirt. It's from my mom's collection of things she hasn't worn in years and it was too beautiful to just let it go to waste.

The skirt actually reminds me of Lauren Conrad's latest collection which features a similar skirt. My mom was stylin' and apparently way ahead of the game. You go, Mama Hsieh!

  2. This skirt is amazing. You must get your style from your mom! Though it makes me sad your family moved so far away. How dare they.

  5. Jen, Jen, Jen! I just love that skirt! Your Mama rocks!
I feel like you don't seem like the most feminine of girls and it's so refreshing to see you try out such a silhouette. The heels are such a perfect final touch ;) But, srsly, I'd love to see more of this wonderful skirt!

  6. Ugh, I don't know what I'd do if my parents moved out of their house! Needless to say, we're keeping a lot of useless stuff there... Great find with this skirt, and great styling as well.
