California Road Trip | Day 2/10: The Golden Gate Bridge + Lands End

Welcome to the Golden Gate Bridge! [Insert the sound of glitter exploding from canons and baby unicorns parachuting down from the sky.]

So maybe it wasn't quite that exuberant of an occasion, but there's still something so magical about seeing the Golden Gate Bridge every single time. I haven't set eyes on it for almost two decades, when I used to live in the bay area, so in a way it felt like a reunion with an old, old friend. Then again, I'm pretty sure my memories from my childhood have already faded away so I'm just pulling these feels from old photographs where I'm standing next to it, cheesin' it up.

Instead of our original plan of biking across the bridge to Sausalito (who's name always makes me crave some spaghetti and tomato sauce), we decided to make the trek to Fort Point, which served to defend the bay area back in the day and now lives on as a historic site. Let me tell you, those winds up at the top of the fort were WILD. I felt like I was going to be blown away at any second so I kept holding on to everything I could possibly hold on to.

After leaving the bridge, we continued to keep abusing our poor, tired legs and decided to wander over to Lands End, a rocky park by the shoreline that was known for housing the Land's End Labyrinth, constructed by local artist Eduardo Aguilera (most likely not related to Christina, but who's to say). The greenery was dope, the rocks were dope, the views were dope, and this stupid silly hiking partner down below was dope. All around, very dope and highly recommended if you're into dope things.

  7. yesyesyes love these!! You guys look like you had such, such a fun time!! I was talking to a kid from church who just got back from his senior trip (ha and I say "kid") to the bay area and oh man these pictures just go hand in hand will all his hilarious stories (including his texan guide telling him to just jump on the cable car at 9:30 at night and scaring the heck out of the security guy.)

As always, I love how your pictures capture your personality! You look so natural in front of the bridge!! Adorable, as always!!!

  11. Somehow, you've managed to inject more exuberance than usual into these photos. Don't think I've seen a post yet with your boyfriend before, either! (Or I haven't been paying close attention). Great shots: the one with pebbles is my favorite. And if these are all shot on the 50 mm . . . well goes to show you just how versatile of a lens it is!
