So just a quick outfit post. My friend Rob and his girlfriend Dawn offered to take these outfit shots for me the other day. We walked over to the oldest area of the University which has the most gorgeous brick buildings. I'm standing in front of Van Nest Hall which was actually the second building to be constructed on Rutgers campus (1845). It's a gorgeous building but I've never had the chance to go inside. Since it was the weekend they had locked it up.

Lately I've been stuck in jeans - mainly because the weather is dropping down to zero degrees and tights just aren't cutting it anymore. I don't know if it's just the weather getting to me...but I feel like I'm falling into a blog slump. It's so hard to quickly grab outfit shots this semester. Either it's tough taking self-portraits (all the abandoned areas are covered in snow which would be risky using my tripod), the sun has already set by the time I can take pictures, or the pictures turn out blurry since my camera takes some getting used to. I'm also an awkward person when it comes to asking people to take pictures for me. At this point, I really can't wait for some warmer weather. As much as I love the snow, I think it's about time for Spring to roll around.

  1. I know what you mean about the weather bringing a blogging slump. Usually when I get home from work the first thing I want to do is put on my warm sweats, not take outfit pictures! Hopefully the warmer weather (please hurry, spring) will bring us all out of our slumps!

  4. I feel the same and I miss taking outfit photos: it's cold = I wear boring but oh so warm clothes = no point in taking outfit shots..

  5. I totally agree! You are brave to take pictures outside. I've been doing all of mine in my condo building because days are around -15 or so. I don't get off work until 4:00 and it gets dark before I get home. I'm with you, I can't wait for spring!

  10. Sometimes I wonder if I could "survive" a real winter weather. I think I'd definitely need to do A LOT of layering.. hee hee.

That building is gorgeous (at least what I can see). I hope your slump passes Jen.. but then again, even in jeans, you're oh so chic! The earmuffs add some fun to the look as well!!

    xx Love & Aloha

  16. You're so cute Jen! I'm sorry snow is putting you in this horrible mood. But if it weren't snowing you wouldn't be able to wear those awesome earmuffs (I feel like I comment on the amazingness of them every time you wear them)! Well you still could, but you'd look like a weirdooooooo! Cheer up Jen <3 It'll be Spring before you know it!

  19. due to wind convergence, it's been raining or cloudy for the last 3 weeks here too...so my photos have been darker. i don't like it being all too sunny though...the heat just kills me.hehe.

  20. I think we're all feeling that winter blogger burnout. Taking pictures can be hard, especially if you don't have someone to help!

I just recently learned a trick for staying warmer in tights...I wear two pairs at the same time! You can do two solids just for warmth, or layer a sheer/textured pair over colored ones. It's my new favorite winter layering trick!
