The Time I Got Excited By Beer

Forever 21 Denim Jacket, Jeans, Scarf (similar)

Classic Moc c/o LAMO Footwear

Well, in regards to the title of this post, I am pretty much always excited for beer. This case was just special because it was 10 AM and there were plenty of kegs behind me. Can't you sense my excitement in these pictures? I love when bars stock up on their supply, except for the fact that I know I'll be pulling out the dolla dolla bills for their liquid gold when I venture out into the city. It's a tough world out there! ;)

Lately I've been feeling pretty exhausted due to a lack of sleep and stress coming at me from every which way. I keep forgetting that I have to take care of my body first and foremost, otherwise everything else will fall down with it. I used to rely on my mom to watch out for me - she'd cook me nutritious dinners, healthy lunches, and prepare two servings of fruit a day. Now that I'm living on my own, I tend to be stingy when it comes to buying groceries, always going for the cheapest option instead of the healthiest option. I guess when it comes to taking care of yourself, it doesn't hurt to spend a little more.

Also, these shoes. Let me talk about these shoes. I used to have a pair of mocassins during my freshman year of college and I wore them out until they were unwearable. Ever since then I couldn't bring myself to fulfill the mocassin void in my life. Well, until this year. LAMO generously offered up a pair of mocassins to review and I jumped at the opportunity. They were promoting their new Footcandy mocassins but I knew the classic mocassins were more my style. I can't get over how comfortable they are and they always make me feel like I'm still in bed, even when I'm at work. New love affair, begin!

  2. This outfit is ridiculously cute. So simple but so good! And okay I have to ask -- do you wear a coat over your denim jacket? Because I want to wear my denim jacket but then I'd have to put my coat over it when I go outside and I don't know if that's super weird or not...? I need somebody to justify this action to me. HALP.

    1. Meg, let's be real. You can do no wrong no matter what you wear. BUT YES. I do wear my coat over my denim jacket because it's good to stay warm and there's no shame in my game.

  7. The first pic is so good! Model.

Please tell me you hijacked that truck or at least hugged one of the kegs. They need tender love and care.

  8. Love the color of your sweater and the classic moccasins, they were a great choice! The post title had me so fooled, I was like, well she must not be a big fan of beer usually! Now that I see all the kegs lined up I totally understand! Get some sleep, eat some fruit, THEN have a delicious golden brew :)

  9. This is perfect, perfect, perfect! I was already in love with your outfit (I just pulled up Topshop online to try to find that sweater), but your bird necklace is such a great detail with the rest of your outfit.

I'm totally with you on adjusting to taking care of yourself completely on your own. It took me a few years to get into the swing of things, and now I'm in a comfortable routine of eating right and keeping my body moving. It was hard without my mom's 3x/day homecooked vegetarian meals (yep, I'm lucky), but I feel so proud now that I've got it down!

I feel like I remember you being younger- (not saying that in a condescending way, I promise!) I think it's easy to expect yourself to be a perfect adult right out of the gate, but I know it took me a few rounds of trial & error before I figured it out :)
