Note: Late-night ramblings up ahead.

Recently I've been thinking about the way I spend my time. I always found myself to be really fortunate to be leading a life where my job doesn't consume my life. Where my job doesn't define who I am as a person. When some people introduce themselves, they start off by saying "Hi, this is my name and this is what I do for a living." And if they don't, you can bet the next question someone asks is, "what do you do?" We all do something, and if we don't, in a way, we're considered to be nobody.

Although I love what I do, and I'm working for a company I'm head over heels for, I'm glad that I don't tie myself down to it. That when I leave work, I actually leave work both mentally and physically. I spend time with the people I love and the hobbies that keep my inner fire burning.

  2. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell you pulled off a flowy skirt AND a drapey top without looking like a giant shopping bag, but somehow you did! You must share your secrets with us mere mortals.

That's so great to hear that you're in a good place with work. I'm not quite there yet, but I try to do a little something every day to move me to closer to that point. I'm happy for you!

  3. That's awesome you're working somewhere that suits you. Lucky! Aha, I hate where I work. But I'm hopeful for the future. We'll see.
Anyway, I love how you made two flowy pieces work together!

  4. You're so lucky that you have that type of job where you can leave it it at work once you go home. I love your outfit. You look great.

  7. I love that you paired this with those boots. Too cute!

Also, this is a nice reflection about work and life. It is too easy to let work define who you are.
