Bring It On, NYFW

This past weekend I had a chance to attend the Son Jung Wan show, thanks to partnering with Fohr Card, an online fashion blog directory that connects bloggers with top brands. I've attended numerous fashion weeks over the past couple of years but this was my first year attending an official show. And guess what the best part was? Finding out I was in the front row.

Guys, it still boggles my mind. I know I sound like such a fashion n00b when there are other bloggers who shrug it off because they're used to it - because they expect it. But I'm not ashamed to sound like a nerd and tell you guys how freaking ecstatic I was. Obviously, I hid it from everyone else and acted pretty calm and collected. But, you guys, I was dying inside. I'll definitely be telling my kids about it one day and elaborating, as if I was some big shot in the fashion industry.

Overall though, a little part of me didn't feel like I belonged. Everyone was strutting around with their designer labels, vintage gems, and looking perfectly styled from head-to-toe. Ultimately, I decided to go with an outfit that felt like me and, although I don't regret it, I definitely wasn't up-to-par with the other girls being photographed. But no worries, I don't mind stepping into the glamorous fashion world only to step back out and back into my world of weird.

Can't wait to share pictures from the show with you guys tomorrow!

Also- 1) I love your outfit and 2) I am finally getting around to reading Lean In and am finding out there are studies that show a lot of women- even women Forbes has in their Most Power Women List- feel some times like they don't belong. Fake it till you feel it, you awesome blogger , you!

  8. Congratulations for being in the first row where the superstars, celebrities and fashion world personalities get seated. What an ego boost! Your outfit was lovely and it was considerate of you to not wear anything outrageous enough to distract attention from the models on the runway. Fashionistas are an integral part of the fashion world and it's nice that you had both the recognition and a great seat!

  9. Woooooo! Way to go, front row lady :) I actually love that you stayed true to you in styling your outfit- that was the first thing I thought when I saw your photos- "Oh yay, she looks so stylish and so her!" It's just so much more authentic, and honestly pretty refreshing.

Can't wait to see pics :) Live it up, girl! I'll join you this spring.
