The Inner Workings of my Mind

My body is currently rejecting this Polar Vortex round two that's all up in my grill this week. I take one step outside and it starts screaming, "GO BACK IN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" It doesn't really help that I'm so casually taking my coat off in pictures as if the temps are in the mid-sixties. The images are full of lies you guys.

I've pretty much been wearing jeans all week because I know even my fleece-lined tights might not do the trick when the morning temperatures are in the single digits. Actually, now that I think about it, jeans aren't really that much thicker or warmer. Perhaps I'll start wearing both of them together. And throw some leg warmers on top of those two layers. Gonna be waddling around the city by that point instead of walking. At least it's Friday so the weekend is only a few hours away. Can I get a WHAT WHAT?

  3. Those are my exact feelings! I have absolutely no desire to go anywhere near the outside world when the wind chill makes it to NEGATIVE THIRTY. It's just ridiculous. Bravo to you for braving the weather and taking your coat off casually haha

  4. Haha- yeah, legs are so tricky to keep warm! Hope you keep yourself warm though.

I love this look. That scarf is disticntive but works very organically with this outfit.

  7. When I was in the PNW I would always wear tights under jeans in the winter! Makes a big difference. You do a great job of not looking like you're absolutely freezing, though :)

  8. Hate the polar vortex...HATE IT. But I commend you for braving the temperatures and taking your outfit shots. I can't even manage walking over to my car without shedding a tear or two.

  11. I love all the fashion bloggers coping with the polar vortex. I usually just take photos in my backyard so it's just a matter of scurrying out, then back in. I give you so much credit!

  14. That was brave of you taking your pretty outfit photos outside in the frigid weather we've been having lately in New York. I wouldn't blame you if you decided wear two layers of long thermal underwear under your outfit and a ski mask under another hat in this weather. Any wind at all makes these cold temperatures dangerous. Be careful and don't get frostbite.
Your big warm looking scarf is pretty and you did style a lovely outfit. I think we may get more snow followed by single digit temperatures at night. Try to keep warm if you can.
