Bonnaroo Diaries | Day 1: Sultry Hip Swaying in Overalls

And now begins my annual Bonnaroo diaries, just a few weeks too late (but better late than never, as procrastinators say).

In mid-June, my usual gang of scummy compadres and I (plus and minus a few) made our annual trek down to Manchester, TN to run around under the scorching Tenneessee sun, not bathe for four days, and listen to way more music than our minds could handle. And as usual I have photos of my rendition on festival looks from each morning, way before the decent into madness, sweatiness, and scumminess. 

Day 1 of 4 consisted of getting settled into our campsite and applying multiple layers of sunscreen with the amateur hope of not getting burned. We arrived in the early afternoon in time to enter the main area to catch Lolawolf and descend upon the glorious food stands. Among the other acts I caught a glimpse of were Cashmere Cat and BØRNS. The highlight of the night, though, was definitely Marian Hill. The level of sultry that came from them reached levels so high it made me want to buy a pair of hot pants and sway my hips right off.
