Traveling in Flocks

Here's a peak into my backyard. It connects to a million other backyards of my other neighbors so there isn't that much privacy. I'm pretty sure there was at least one other person watching me take my self-portraits. It was nice when I was younger though and still went outside to play. We would have a giant baseball game in my backyard (I couldn't pitch but I definitely could swing!) and some of the other kids in the neighbor would see and run across all the backyards to join. I miss playing outside like that and just being reckless. These days my summers are a lot more busy.

Is it just me or is that tree a little bit of a phallic symbol? Inappropriate? Yes.

I'm heading into the city tomorrow and I'm hitching a ride with my friend. I'm meeting one of my best friends for lunch who has an internship near wall street. Afterwards I'll probably wander around the city looking for great vintage and/or thrift stores and picking up a scarf for my friend from a street vendor. Any suggestions on great places to get cheap vintage in the city? I never know where to go and google isn't much of a help. It's always great to get advice straight from actual residents. :)

This shirt was supposed to be a dynamic duo piece but it sold out online before Jasmine could get her hands on it! It's not even available in stores either. I love it so much, especially since it's miu miu inspired. Don't worry though, we have a few Dynamic Duos in store for you guys this summer and I'm so excited! I just have to get myself to a beach first. I only live an hour away from the shore but schedules have been conflicting and the weather has been a mess. And who wants to go to the shore alone? Maybe if I lived right next to it. Otherwise the one hour drive down and back up gets to be a bore and quite tiresome.

Well I better get some sleep since I have to wake up in a few hours to head to the city. If only my throat wasn't so sore. It makes falling asleep and waking up a pain in the butt.

Bleachers

One of the best things about the weekends, is that there's no school. Back in grade school that meant time to relax and procrastinate on homework. Now, it means I can sneak onto my old high school to take outfit pictures since the place is deserted! I still wasn't daring enough to take pictures in the outside walkways - there might have been someone walking around for some reason. What would they think if they saw some sketchy girl with her tripod standing around? I decided to stick to a small field behind the classroom buildings.

I won the bracelet I'm wearing from Sharon's giveaway! It's made by Inez who has an etsy shop as well as a blog. Her pieces are so stunning and I have my eye on some of her statement necklaces! I'm definitely going to be saving up for one of those. :)

I started working at Love Culture and it's a whole lot of folding clothes, hanging clothes, and unpacking clothes. I guess that's what happens when you choose to work at a clothing store that's just opening up (it's a HUGE store - the amount of clothes is never ending). Seeing all the clothes is also extremely terrifying because I see my paycheck flying out the window. The temptation is quite horrible.

I'm going to my friend's house later for ice cream and bonding after I have some lovely Boston Market with my familia. He's the only guy I know who's just excited as me to watch old episodes of Sex and the City. :)

The always lovely and adorable Sybil from Animated Confessions tagged me and so here's a survey to start off my day:
1. What shoe size are you?
Size 7 1/2. If you guys got some shoes that size that you want to get rid of, you know who to call ;)
2.Where do you work?
I'm currently working at Love Culture (it's opening up at the mall in about a week). I used to work at dELiA*s at the mall though (their mismatched upper and lower cases still annoy me to some extent haha). :P
3.Favorite piece of clothing you own?
My black skinny jeans from Forever 21. They never let me down.
4.Your favorite blog?
There are way too many to name. Check out my blog roll for some of my daily reads. :)
5.Do you have any pets?
My parents have a few goldfish in a HUGE tank at home. I had my own betta fish during the school year but he passed away over a month ago. :(
6.How many siblings do you have?
An older brother by almost two years (one school year).
7.If you could live anywhere where would it be?
Just for right now, it's gotta be San Francisco. I used to live nearby when I was younger and I went all the time. Not permanently though since I'd miss impromptu trips to the city too much.
8.What were you doing before this?
Lying on my friend's driveway, looking at the constellations.
9.Your favorite food?
Food in general. I'm hungry.
10.Do you have a middle name?
Nope. Sometimes I wish I did though.
11.Your favorite websites?
I have to admit, I'm addicted to Facebook. Hulu too. :)
12.Who do you tag?
This time I'm gonna go with Chloe and Mel.

Now I'm off to bed. I'll leave you with a random pictures from the Leadership Academy I went to a few weeks ago. This is what I look like when I'm out in the middle of Indiana - skirts and dresses aren't really camp appropriate.

There weren't many hills in Indiana and my friend joked that all the hills we saw were probably man-made. I loved all the clear land free of civilization though.

We did a lot of team building activities. Tom and I broke the rules so ended up as conjoined twins.

Abandoned

Yesterday, my friend Kirsten and I decided to go on an adventure. We drove off into the wilderness (about 10 minutes away) and found this abandoned barn. It was actually pretty dangerous since there were nails and broken equipment all around the place, but it made for a cool photo shoot location. I especially loved this one wagon that was painted sea green. I'll definitely be coming back here for a photo shoot when it's not so rainy and when my hair isn't frizzing up from humidity.

I just came back from the dentist (who doesn't love the dentist?). Now I just have to get a ton of busywork done before I head out tonight to my friend's new off-campus apartment. I'll leave you guys with a silly picture I took on self-timer of my gorgeous photographer and a not-so-gorgeous me. :)

Home Sweet Home

There's just something about being home that I love. It's a feeling of security, safety, and love. And of course nothing beats a home cooked meal, am I right? I present to you, in these photos, my bed. One touch of my pillow and I'm automatically out. It's one of the many loves of my life and it never fails me. No matter how horrible I treat it (I'm quite the kicker), it never leaves my side. Maybe because it has no choice though...

I bought this tunic/dress from taiwan about two years ago and I've never gotten around to wearing it. I thought I'd try styling it up and I really adore the pop of turquoise. The lady who I bought it from at the marketplace, however, decided to give me the wrong size. I'm passing it on to Jess for a clothing exchange that Sybil organized. I can't wait to remix all the pieces that we're all going to mail to each other soon. If only there was free shipping for bloggers...or just in general! But of course that would just be ridiculous. :P

Oh! And I apologize for the boring, indoors photos. Sometimes going outside alone with a tripod is a hassle and enslaving your friends as photographers isn't exactly guilt-free, even when they don't mind, haha.

For some reason I'm in sort of a melancholy mood right now. I'm not exactly sure why. I guess I always feel melancholy when my mind is filled with uncertainty. I'm also missing a lot of people right now. If only I had a private jet. If only I was a pilot. I could go anywhere, anytime.
