Am I allowed to mix navy, mint, and coral!? Well, it happened yesterday somewhat on a whim when I decided I just wanted to wear every single one of my favorite items: my favorite eyelet skirt I scored for three dollars at an Urban Outfitters sale, my favorite mint flats, my favorite sunglasses, my favorite bow printed top that's perfectly feminine and sweet, and my favorite thrifted purse I got for a dollar. I've a big believer in having fun with clothes. Often times, "fun" takes priority over practicality or flattery in my life and I think that at age 19, I'm lucky to be able to do that before I'm in a place where I have to look the part of a professional adult! I won't always be able to wear crazy ridiculous colors together and I know that, so I'm just having fun while I can. It doesn't always work, but that's where I learn!

Anyways, hello! My name is Maggie and I am the blogger behind Lifesize Paperdoll! I was so so excited when Jen asked for guest bloggers and I knew I could fill in. She filled in for me a long time ago and I remember thinking how completely amazing it was that a blogger of her caliber would guest blog on my little ol' blog! I'm so happy to return the favor. It's always a blast to work with other bloggers and be inspired with fresh content!

Lately, I've been going through a bit of a transitional period of my young adult life as a 19 almost 20 year old. It's been kind of scary and unsettling, but I kind of love the idea that everything happens for a reason and unplanned things that go awry are just an opportunity for growth. I guess I kind of like change? I've spent the last couple of months doing everything for me and actually making some of the decisions I was before scared to make. But when you have nothing left to lose, why not go for it? Time to myself finally means doing all the things I usually make excuses out of doing; telling myself I'm "too busy" to do them. I want to be a writer,  I want to learn to sew, I want to read Rory Gilmore's list of 250 favorite books, I want to walk to the park alone and read on a picnic blanket all day long, I want to go to a movie by myself, I want to apply to a crazy internship I know I'll never get in a thousand years in New York City or San Francisco, I want to save my money for something amazing, and I want to spend time every single day working towards something. It's true what they say: you make your own happiness. I dare you all, though I don't have much clout as just a teenager, to do one thing today, say one thing today, you're afraid of. It's always worth it.

  4. Eep, I couldn't agree more with what you're saying! We really are responsible for ourselves and our own happiness. Gotta get out there and start things! :)

This outfit is seriously precious. I saw it in my dashboard and just fell in love with the preview!

  5. great post maggie! thanks to jen also for inviting you here. :) Your topic cannot come in a more opportune time than this. Just recently lost a competition and like you, I'm a firm believer in things happening for a reason. :) we may not know that reason now, but I'm certain it'll be revealed to us in time. :) One step at a time. One day at a time. :)
