Cheesecake in Cheesequake

About a year ago, Jeremy and I were driving down the Jersey Parkway and saw a sign for Cheesequake State Park. Being the constantly hungry person that I am, I immediately thought it was a park full of cheesecakes. And so it became that Jeremy and I added "having cheesecake at cheese quake" onto our joint bucket list. It took us a couple of failed attempts over the past year, but we finally managed to accomplish it this past Saturday with some delicious strawberry cheesecake.

I rarely find myself wearing sneakers anymore and I usually don't wear them on my blog either. But come on, let's be honest, what would you have thought if I was wearing wedges in these photos? Who goes hiking in wedges? When it comes to my work outfits as well, I almost always wear flats unless I'm staying late in the city, which means I don't have to run to catch my train home. So when you see me wearing 3-inch heels in my 6:30 AM outfit pictures? I usually take them off before I head into the city. A commuter has to be crazy to wear heels. But all-in-all, it's still my style. A girl's just got to be practical sometimes.

But, soon I won't have to wear flats anymore and I can rock my wedges and heels to work. You know why? Because I signed the lease for my NYC apartment. I'll be living with my friend Rob and his friend Crystal in East Harlem (101st Street area) in a three bedroom apartment. I'm pretty excited to get to know the area and decorate our space. Anyone know anything about the area? Suggestions?

  2. Why are you two so gosh darn adorable? And oh my gosh your shorts match the Cheesecake.

Congrats on the apartment! That's huge! And SUPER exciting. Let me know how NYC living is; it's something I kinda maybe want to try out one day. Good luck!! Also: Ikea, Ikea, Ikea (pro tip: they have awesome fro-yo for a dollar by the checkouts. a dollar!)

  3. Haha, I feel you on the wedges/sneakers in post things... because I always seem to wear the higher shoes in my outfit pictures and then take them off moments after taking the pictures. I'm so LAME.

BUt you're cool because you wear your awesome sneakers hiking instead of wedges and aren't afraid to admit it.

Props for eating cheesecake at this cheesequake place, too. It sounds adventerous. ;)

  5. Congratulations on getting an apartment!! Living in New York City has long been a dream of mine for after college, and it is so awesome to read about people who are making that dream come true.

This is such a cute outfit - I'm a huge fan of denim jackets. They're just so cozy and chic. And good choice on the sneakers. :)

The cheesecake also looks delicious, by the way, though I'm sure you knew that.

  6. Haha the first time you posted about Cheesequake I read it as cheesecake and was kind of disappointed that there was no cheesecake in that post, but now there is in this post! Nomz! I love cheesecake! So when I hiked to the Hollywood sign last year, there was this girl who was taking blog pictures with her boyfriend, and she was in crazy high wedges and then she proceeded to walk back down the mountain in those wedges. Crazy. You look much cuter than she did though ;)
