Ever since the heatwave a few weeks ago, I got so adjusted to assuming that all summer weather was in the 90's that I keep forgetting that temperatures in the 70's isn't so abnormal. I was actually able to wear jeans and a long sleeve blouse on a cloudy, rainy day without walking the streets of New York City, dripping in sweat (what a lovely thing to picture).
These days I'm finding myself feeling older and older and less willing to stay out partying until the sun rises. On Friday night, by 2 am, I was already daydreaming about my bed as I downed a shot with some British men my friend knew. Sometimes Netflix marathons and a bag of chips while tucked into bed is much, much, much more appealing than drinking beer after beer after beer until the bar closes down. We're not in Kansas anymore.
Love the layering! Chic and cute, but the outfit still looks comfortable. (and I am always up for a night in over a night out. but i've been middle aged most of my 23 years)
ReplyDeleteYour layering is brilliant! I love the look! Also, you look very happy in all of your pictures :)
ReplyDeleteWell, for one thing- bars in Kansas close by 2 am :P
ReplyDeleteStill though, I think that's natural as one grows to change what ou do for leisure.
You look adorable in this and I find it such a creative layering idea.
I absolutely love the layering here!! This blouse under the crop top is so perfect, such a great change of pace to be able to layer in the summer
ReplyDelete2am is crazy late for me, but thats last call here so thats probably why

Love love love how you layered a crop top over your lovely dotted blouse ^^ Great idea! And oh how I know the feeling you describe in this post :) when Between the age of 16 and 18 (in Belgium, the law about partying is different) I went out probably 2 days every single weekend. Music generally stops at 3am, but that didn't mean we went home at that hour! Not at all sometimes... . But after my homecoming at the end of High School I got over it. I guess I had my fair share of parties and dancings, haha. I went to college and have only been to 1 party there. 1. pretty pathetic actually, but I lived far off campus and didn't get a dorm room near site :) anyway... LOTS of rambling here, haha. xo
ReplyDeleteI hopped over from the lovely Ali's blog. I totally agree that as we grow older, we tend to enjoy the indoor comforts more whereas when we were much younger, partying and staying out late was all we had wanted to do. But you look very young. I think quite a huge age gap from me to feel like watching TV indoors is comforting. Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteWe are in a constant state of change. Love the outfit.
ReplyDeletegreat layering :)

Love your shoes! I'm starting to feel old with how early I go to bed lately!
ReplyDeleteHaha, getting older sucks, huh?
ReplyDeleteA Netflix marathon sounds so appealing right now...
Love the layers girl, and is that snow??? Wow, crazy weather.
The Dragonfruit Diaries
Gotta love your Netflix. And it's actually rain drizzling from the sky! :)
DeleteHaha you're so cute! Great layering and love the shoes!

Oh no, Jen is growing up! hahaha, I can relate because I've never really been in that party lifestyle. I'm always huddled up with a warm cup o' tea and a blanket from about 8 o' clock on through the night. Are you turning, Jen? JOIN US. JOIN THE INTROVERTS!!!
ReplyDeleteSo you managed to layer two tops that look completely different. How did you even. You have got SKILL.
I love the blog! gorgeous outfit!

I want those shoes! *steals* >:)
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so cute, and I love all of your pretty outfits. I'm in love with your bag and shoes! I definitely agree that I'm more suited to staying in with close friends than partying with people I hardly know!

So I don't if I'm super behind (I probably am), but holy shit, your new blog design. Could you be anymore talented? And by that, I mean can you be anymore talented/stylish/adorable/awesome? I want to try layering a crop top over a button down now, you make it look so cool. Also, staying in and watching Netflix is all I want to do EVERY night.
ReplyDeleteSo...I might just steal these shoes from you when I visit you next (hopefully this Spring!).
ReplyDeleteLove the combination of those tops! Awesome look

LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteLady, I am SO with you about losing my stamina for late nights out. I've had to drag myself from the apartment lately to go pretty much anywhere, and I'm wondering if it's a sign that I need some time to recharge and relax. City life can take a toll!
ReplyDeleteI love how you layered this crop top here- I've always shied away from them since my abs aren't exactly Jessica Alba-esque, but this look is so wearable. Love it!
