Thanks to a few connections at work, my co-worker and I found ourselves in the VIP section of an Empire of the Sun concert along the Hudson River yesterday evening. Even though being in VIP isn't that big of a deal, I started walking with a swagger as if I knew the band or something actually worth swaggering up for. All we really got to do was stand in a special section which wasn't that special at all. I had high expectations for the VIP section after seeing the ones at Bonnaroo - free beer, free water, and being right in front of the stage? Now that was one hell of a section. This one? I'd rather be in the raging crowd getting bumped around and yelling my head off.

Nevertheless, it was a beautiful night out with the perfect view of the city skyline, both from up-close and far away. We could definitely tell that fall had arrived as the temperatures dropped and the bitter wind gave us goosebumps. Guess it's time to get those sweaters and cardigans out.

Also, looking at most of these pictures, you would think I didn't have a face.

  1. Loving this look, that sweater looks so comfy :)
And I know what you mean, sometimes things don't live up to expectations. I'm not sure I would like a VIP section after being in one for a John MAyer concert....amazing comfy seats, waiters, haha...

  9. This outfit is very Gatsby-esque to me for some reason. The sweater almost gives the impression that your dress is a dropwaist dress or something, and I totally love it. You and your layering. You probably do it without even knowing it. SIGH <3 I LOVE MY JEN.
