The PNW Diaries: Seafood + Seattle Piers

Jeremy and I left the calm streets of Portland early in the morning to catch a bus to Seattle. Guys, I love Seattle. We used airbnb for all of our lodging and we ended up booking this adorable little studio at The Virginian in the heart of downtown. I found that using airbnb was a much better (and cheaper) experience than booking hotels since you actually get the feel of living within the city. You feel like you're a resident instead of a guest. Recommended? Most definitely.

Since we got in pretty early in the afternoon, we managed to cross off almost half our To-Do list on our first day. I knew I wanted to grab lunch at Pike's Place and boy, was it one hell of a lunch. If anything was to capture my heart in the Pacific Northwest, it would be the fresh seafood. Oh my gaaaah, you guys. Jeremy and I got fish and chips (both the cod and the salmon versions) and we just sat there in silence soaking and eating it all in. I'm pretty sure the only words we exchanged were "This is SO GOOD" and "Om nom nom nom" on repeat.

Actually, I wonder if it's possible to just have it shipped over to the east coast. One day...

We spent the rest of the day exploring the waterfront by the piers which had an incredible view as the sun slowly started to set upon Seattle. One of the things I love about Seattle more than Portland, is how close it is to the bay. There's nothing more relaxing to me than looking out into the water. Granted, the ocean will always have the number one spot in my heart, but this is pretty damn close and just as beautiful.

  3. Not sure if it is the glasses or the bangs but it makes for a real change up visually (not bad, just different!)

Have to admit- I liked Portland more than I liked Seattle, but I think weather played a big part in that- and maybe reasons for the visit. In Portland, we came in June when it was unusually sunny (lawns were brown) and we'd come to OR to help my sister move and scheduled time in Portland just to play. Seattle I visited when it was actually SNOWING in Seattle, so it was cold and gross. Plus, it was a conference. You make me want to try Seattle again!
