JennifHsieh is a space for my rambling thoughts and snaps of my everyday style. I'm based in Astoria, Queens and I share a home with my two derpy cats and my equally derpy fiancé.

Lost in the Heat of it All

H&M Polka Dot Snapback from Jeremy (similar) | Color Block Sweater c/o JollyChic (similar) | Forever 21 Denim | India Boots c/o Blowfish Shoes (similar) | Tan Tote Bag c/o LuLu*s (similar) | What Time? Watch c/o Rakani

I really want to pull off the whole urban look and I'm determined to do it. I've had a love affair with snapbacks for the past year but my ears tend to stick right out the sides of my head, making it a bit hard to wear any kind of hat in general. But you know what? Gonna make it work. It just has to.

I boldly left my apartment and headed to work, polka dotted snapback on my head and everything (thanks for indulging my need to be urban there, Jeremy). I actually got a good number of compliments and no one gasped in disgust upon seeing me in the office. Then one of my closest friends at the office took a look at the hat and asked, "...is that something you have to review?" Basically telling me in one simple question that maybe snapbacks aren't really quite my look. But to no avail I will keep trying until one day it becomes a part of me and she's forced to accept that I am, in fact, urban chic.*

*Disclaimer: At my current stage, I am no where near urban chic and will most likely never rise to that level as hard as I may try. Additionally,  I regret using the term "urban chic" immensely, so please forgive me.

  7. You are not alone, we all want so badly to be urban chic. somehow I fear it's the kind of thing you can't force, it's just supposed to happen on it's own and we aren't supposed to use the term 'urban chic'.
but hey, fake it until you make it, right?
    Chic on the Cheap
