Mermaids Live in Queens

There's just something about a good ol' maxi skirt that gets me in good spirits (I sound like an old fart). There's also something about your co-worker telling you that you look like a mermaid that gets you in even better spirits. Now all I need is a seashell bra and I'm pretty much good to go.
Since there aren't many summer weekends left - sob - I'm heading down to the Jersey shore with a few high school friends to squeeze in another beach weekend before it's time for cardigans and sweaters again. Although, don't get me wrong, I love me some fall. Plenty of sunshine and reckless beach nights are the best cure to a long, long week.

This post reminded me that I have a coral maxi skirt sitting in my drawer that I have yet to wear. That green is a lovely color on you! It definitely does evoke thoughts of mermaids. And ah, the Jersey shore. It's already the end of August and I haven't gone a single time, and this might be my last year in Jersey. What a bummer.
