The biggest thing I've gained from starting this blog seven years ago is not only developing any sort of style (let alone a personal style) but learning to have the confidence to wear what I love and not only what's trending. Not to say I ignore trends altogether because where's the fun in that? But not avoiding something because it's not "in" and, instead, making it my own. Because to some degree the most important thing you can wear is your self-confidence.
Now before this post starts to seep with enough cheese to make nachos, I leave you with my mother's skirt that I will love forever and ever and ever. To me, it will always be timeless, because it was hers. I'll wear it until my waistline expands too much for it to fit.
I agree, your self-confident is the best thing to wear!
ReplyDeleteLove your look and of course your beautiful skirt by la mum!

Love it and its story!
ReplyDeleteMums are great... I love the skirt of your mum. It is sublime and gives you a romantic and classy touch. It is good to cultivate your own style and not always follow trends. It makes you unique. You are "pétillante" :)
ReplyDeleteI’ll have to try to remember to link this post when I shoot and post my mom’s dress I brought with me! I’m hoping to do that today, but this week regardless if not. I just have some choices of location and kinda want her to pick, haha. I agree with you completely - there are some pieces where it doesn't matter where they came from, what brand they are - they just have these memories associated with them, these people, and that's why I really want to do that dress justice. And your skirt is absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's totally lovely. wear it with pride (and swag!)
ReplyDeleteLove your style, dear! Your outfit reminds me of all the wardrobe pieces my mother passed down to me. It's amazing how style recycles itself and how much fashion taste is inspired by our own moms! Keep it up!

That skirt is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAww it must be really lovely and heartwarming to wear something our loved ones used to own. There was a skirt of my Mom that I absolutely adored but then I went to Germany for 3 years and the skirt disappeared...never really moved on from that, I'm afraid :'(
