My favorite neighborhood in Lisbon was the Alfama District, known as the historic heart of the city. Every corner you turn there's another building covered in beautiful tiling, doors painted beautiful, pastel colors, and viewpoints (miradouros) that take your breath away (if you had any breaths left after climbing up and down the numerous hills of Lisbon). Jeremy and I documented our adventures getting "lost" in Alfama as well as some of top tips on our new travel blog, And Away We Went, so check 'em out. It was mostly all about finding little cafés with cheap and delicious glasses of Sangria and roadside shots of Ginja (cherry liquor).
