Frozen in Montréal

Earlier this month Jeremy and I decided to make a quick weekend trip to Montréal, because apparently we didn't think it was cold enough in New York City. We most definitely were not prepared for the single digit weather and the blizzard on Sunday, covering the entire city in 10-12 inches of snow. I didn't even pack a scarf. Levels of idiocy were high on my part.

The last time we were in Montreal, about three years ago, was during the summer and we kept gushing about how the streets were covered in outdoor seating and how walkable the city was. This time around just walking 15-minutes outside on the ice- and snow-covered sidewalks turned my toes into ice cubes. We ended up abandoning our plans to go ice-skating at Beaver lake and spent more time in the subways and on buses than we planned.

Luckily for us, Montréal is a city well-prepped for winter living and we were still able to eat and drink our way through the Mile End neighborhood on Saturday. I can't wait for our Montréal posts to be up and live on & Away We Went; stay tuned!

  3. I love your photos! Plus, I think a trip down to Montreal would be wonderful, despite the cold! I have lived in Canada all my life, which explains why I'm okay with going out in -20 weather, but still. Your outfit looks super comfy and cute x
