I'll Make It Anywhere

I spent half of this past weekend in good ol' New York City. Recently, I feel like I'm always there either visiting friends or searching for jobs; but this time I was going to be doing some service with Circle K. Even though I graduated I'm still technically a member until the fall rolls around so they can't say goodbye to me yet! We all met up in Central Park on Friday before splitting up into teams for Saturday's service projects. My friend Saad was nice enough to snap some shots for me while things were still getting settled. Despite all the times I've been, the beauty of Central Park never fails to amaze me. There's always a new area to discover and its beauty constantly evolves with each season.

Later that night I met up with my two friends Teddy and Rachel to hit up some tiny (literally) but amazing bars in his area. But beforehand we snuck up to the roof of a nearby building and I saw the most breathtaking 360 degree view of the city. We were at the bottom of Harlem and seeing Midtown from afar and all the bridges - there are few things as beautiful as that. You're surrounded entirely by artificial stars and there is an entire glow surrounding midtown as if it's a galaxy all on it's own.

On Saturday morning I woke up at the break of dawn in order to make the 2 1/2 hour journey from Harlem to Rockaway Beach in Queens. I'm impressed that I was able to make it in time with all those transfers (weekend subway service changes are frustrating). My group volunteered at the Bike Parade which featured local residents in crazy outfits and decorated bikes. It made me wish I had my bike with me as well! Then we went all the way back to Harlem (whew!) to beautify the Dog Park in the St. Nicholas Park. Doing that made me really want a dog of my own, specifically a Husky.

I guess this entire weekend has just made me realize I really want to live in NYC, own a bike, and raise a dog. Challenge accepted.

I've officially a college graduate. An alumni. It still hasn't kicked in and I'm predicting that it won't kick in until it's September and all my younger friends are heading back to campus for another academic year. Graduating is incredibly bittersweet but I'm so glad I was able to have the incredible experience that I've taken away from college. The past four years have been crazy and I wouldn't change a single minute of it for the world. I have met people that have changed my life for the better and I have met people that will be by my side for the rest of my life. No doubt in my mind.

Now that I'm settled back at home, it's time to start the job hunt (I really should've started earlier). Wish me luck!

The Sky Was Falling

I can't believe how hectic this last week of college has been! Between catching up with friends, finishing up my finals, and all the senior week celebrations, I haven't really had any time to breathe. I'm about to go grab brunch with two of my favorites but before I left I wanted to share an outfit I wore into the city this last Tuesday.

Jeremy and I went down to Tribeca to attend a Tech Tuesday event that featured the founder of Dear Photograph, Taylor Jones. He just released his first Dear Photograph book and I got to take home a free copy. It's pretty sweet and it still blows me away that Taylor is the same age as me. I've gotta think of the next brilliant idea!

Tomorrow is already graduation day but it still hasn't kicked in that my college years are over. I can't wait to share all of my senior week pictures with you guys. My roommates and I went on a mini-photo shoot yesterday to take some pictures in our cap and gowns that I'll be posting next week. But the next time I update this bad boy, I'll be a college graduate. How crazy is that?

Cinco de Mayo!

This past Saturday was Cinco de Mayo so a few friends and I decided to celebrate it the right way - with some authentic Mexican food (the restaurant was appropriately named Cinco de Mayo), sketchy bar hopping, and tequila & Coronas galore! Definitely an interesting and unforgettable night. I took a few, random pictures throughout the night that I didn't remember I took until the morning. Keep up with my other random pictures on Instagram! My username is jennifhsieh. :)

I just took my last final a few hours ago and I'm officially done being an undergrad! It still hasn't kicked in and I keep thinking that I'm still going to wake up tomorrow and go to class. I might accidentally do that anyway. In one week I'll be moved out of my on-campus apartment and moved back home. Can't wait for that beautiful home-cooking. <3

Somebody That I Used to Know

Somebody That I Used to Know

If you guys have been consistently visiting my blog this past week you'll notice that I went through three different layouts. I wasn't satisfied with any of the looks and my indecisiveness got the best of me. But now I think I have finally designed a layout I'm content with - it's simple and that's just the way I like it. It's definitely growing up with me and it reflects my own personal aesthetic and my style. Any feedback is welcome.

Last night my roommates and I went to the midnight premiere of The Avengers and my mind was blown. It was definitely worth going to and I would watch it again if I wasn't a poor college (almost) graduate. And the Hulk? He's definitely my new obsession.

Also, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported me and voted for me in Free Endearment's Ultimate Fashion Blog Off! I had to style three different Free Endearment bags and I was able to gain the most votes on my looks! I get to take home an entire year's supply of bags courtesy of Free Endearment and I can't thank them enough for this opportunity. Definitely a great company and I can't wait to browse through the selection. I'm definitely going to be doing a couple of giveaways with these bags since you guys deserve them more than I do! You guys will probably get a lot more use out of them too since I'm not the biggest bag person (what will I do with 12 bags?). Thank you guys again so much - best readers and friends around? I think so.
