Free Falling

To be honest I don't really feel like myself in this outfit but I like it nonetheless. I don't really wear blazers that often because it feels so formal and a bit "adult". Not saying that I'm not an adult but I always feel like an incredible kid at heart. You have the majority of your life to be an adult - why grow up so fast? Sometimes when I act like a kid, others treat me like a kid. I guess in my ideal world people would treat me like an adult regardless. Can't have the best of both worlds all the time though, yeah?

Speaking of growing up, one of my best friends, Jess, is turning twenty-two in two days and we're all going out to dinner tonight to celebrate. I've known her since I was nine and I honestly don't know anyone else that knows me better. She's one of those friends that would drop everything they were doing to be there for me and I know how rare that can be. Definitely a keeper. Jess, you're stuck with me because I'm not letting you go. :P

  1. I know what you mean about blazers...I've had some sitting in my closet for a couple of years that I've never worn! I always feel almost too "professional"....maybe I should try something like this outfit, because it definitely looks fun!

The detail on the top is gorgeous! I've never seen it before!

  2. I feel the same way about blazers too -- even though it's become really popular to wear them casually now, I have a hard time styling them because they feel so corporate. Not to mention that a lot of the shoulder/neck areas on blazers tend to overwhelm my frame...oh well. Love your white blazer and how you styled it. Have fun with your friend!

  3. You're so gorgeous! I love how you styled this look, despite you not really liking it. I know how you feel about being an adult but such a kid at heart. Sometimes I feel like I grew up too fast, but then again, I know I'm a kid so who cares? ;)

That blazer is fantastic though, I think I need to get my hands on one!

  7. I think it's interesting that you don't really like blazers...but maybe because I tend to consider blazers and jackets a definite need in my wardrobe– when I'm in a rush to get to studios or such, they're great to quickly throw on and get out the door. Even though you don't really like this outfit, I like how you kept the colours minimalistic and the interesting cutouts along the neckline definitely keep it youthful. Happy birthday to your friend Jess and I hope that you both have a lovely time! Still be kids! xx

  8. I loooove blazers...but I definitely don't think this looks "too grown-up." The cutouts on your shirt keeps the outfit playful :)
