Hi! My name is Kirsten and I have had the distinct pleasure of being besties with Jen since 7th grade. One of the perks of being Jen's friend is that I get to be her photographer every now and then. Some of my favorite photo shoots can be found here, here, and, most recently, here.

Now, ever since our first abandoned barn excursion, Jen and I like to go on what we call "adventures". We pick a day, do some research, and find an abandoned location for a photo shoot. I recently got my own camera and have been dabbling in photography, so these adventures have been loads of fun. Just Jen and I creeping around quiet, run-down buildings, silently snapping pictures of the rubble and decay.

This old train car was probably one of my favorite adventures to date. You can find Jen's outfit post from this day here. It was hot and muggy, but the train was very different than any other building we had been to before. After climbing up a rusty set of stairs, it was really neat to walk through the car and read all the graffiti that covered the walls. There just something so peaceful about exploring a place that people forgot about long ago. It makes you wonder what it's story is and who was there before you.

I can't wait to see where our next adventure will take us. I hope you enjoyed my post and thank you for taking the time to read it! If you want to see more of my attempts at photography, here's my tumblr. It's a random assortment of more urban exploration, photography class assignments, and glimpses into my life. Feel free to stop by

  1. I lately got my own camera and have been dabbling in digital cameras, so these journeys have been lots of fun. Just Jen and I coming around silent, run-down structures, quietly taking images of the stones and corrosion.
