Happy Belated Halloween!

In my book of rules, it's never too late for Halloween. Due to Hurricane Sandy, last Wednesday wasn't much of a Halloween as it was a day to keep warm in the state-wide power outages. Now that I've found a way to get back into New York City, and back to my power-filled apartment, Rob and I decided to celebrate Halloween just a few days late. Rob wanted to carve Jack the Pumpkin King (from The Nightmare Before Christmas) so we grabbed a few knives, our pumpkin, and created a masterpiece (in our biased opinions).

I was really looking forward to the NYC West Village Halloween Parade this past Wednesday - luckily it will be rescheduled for sometime this week so I won't be missing out on one of the most incredible celebrations in America. Whoo! Not to mention, the Governor of NJ decided to officially move Halloween to next Monday so children would be able to trick-or-treat safely once the majority of power was restored. The power to move Holidays? Definitely something on my bucket list. Guess I better delve into my (almost non-existant) political side! ;)

How did you guys celebrate Halloween this past week?

  9. That Jack Skellington pumpkin is AWESOME! We had a little party at our house the Friday before Halloween, but thanks to Sandy beginning to sweep up the coast, it was rainy and cold the whole night.
