Hey Tangerine

My sunburn is starting to peel - how attractive do I sound right now? You can definitely tell how tan I got from this outfit shoot. I just happened to strategically cover up all the parts of me that were orange (I matched my skirt). Never fall asleep on the beach under the boiling hot sun. I repeat, never.

But speaking of orange, I've decided that my summer style goal is to wear more color. I always stick to neutrals or more muted shades. I don't really go for bright colors so this summer I'm going to step outside of my comfort zone...starting with this skirt! Do you guys have any summer style goals? Let me know! :)

Now that summer has kicked into full gear, so many of my friends are taking off. Two of them are overseas (Rome and Turkey), one moved into a NYC apartment, and another one moved to Philadelphia (not to mention Phebe flew back to Texas only a few days ago). I'm feeling some separation anxiety right now. In a week or two I'll be doing some working and traveling of my own though. But anyway, today was a busy and tiresome day so I think I'll wrap it up by watching a movie and eating slices of pepperoni. Healthy? Absolutely not - just the way I like it. :)

Hana Air Professional Review

One of my longest sponsors, Misikko, reached out to me and asked me to review the HANA air Professional Hair Dryer. Over the years I have strayed from my straightener and now the only tool I use for my hair on a daily basis is a hair dryer to dry my bangs. I jumped for the opportunity since blow drying my medium thickness hair can be quite a chore and I welcomed anything that could shorten the amount of time it takes to make my hair dry. Misikko offers a variety of blow dryers and hair straighteners - I had my chance to review (and giveaway) the HANA Professional Hair Straightener last year and this time it's all about the blow dryer.

As usual, I was blown away by the fast delivery - the order was placed and the package was delivered the next day. What's more impressive is Misikko's customer service. Usually, when you order a product you get exactly what you ask for. With Misikko, when you order a product, you get exactly what you ask for and so much more. There were little goodies hidden within the box such as an extra styling comb, shampoo/conditioner, roses, and hand sanitizer. Oh, and did I mention the little monkey? He's currently hanging by my bedside. This being my second order, I can promise you that you will not be disappointed when your package lands at your doorstep. :)

As for the actual blow dryer's performance, I made a little video to demonstrate it since I figured taking pictures wouldn't be the best way to show the hair drying process. It only took 4-5 minutes to completely blow dry my hair (which usually takes 10-15 minutes) and I'm never looking back at my old blow dryer. Oh, and also, as you're watching the review video please excuse my awkward blow drying faces, my awkward glasses, and my overall awkwardness.

If you guys have any other questions concerning my experiences with Misikko, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email! Be sure to sign up for their newsletter as well for great deals and updates.  :)

Stripes at the Shore

This has been a fun yet exhausting week. One of my best friends from high school, Phebe, came to visit NJ for a week. She had moved to Texas after our high school graduation and I haven't seen her for the past three weeks. If any of you remember, I used to have a fashion blog with her about two years ago (as you can see I've developed into my own style over the years - no laughing!). She caught a flight back to Texas this morning and I'm finally ready to get some sleep in and get some work done. Maybe I'll sneak a visit to Texas next year to visit her. :)

Levi Corduroy Shorts via Urban Outfitters

This is one of my favorite outfits lately just because of how effortless it was. My favorite outfits are usually my most simple outfits - or maybe it's because I have nice memories associated with this outfit. Jeremy and I took a trip down to the shore before any of the crazy beach-goers could populate it with their beach chairs and tanning sessions. I love tanning on the beach (although not currently as I am suffering from a horrible stomach sunburn) but my favorite beach visits are on the cloudiest of days where there are only a few stray visitors walking along the boardwalk.

Dynamic Duo Rompers

I present to you another Dynamic Duo post! This time around, Jasmine and I both chose this gorgeous, floral romper from Forever 21. I love that it looks like a dress but when the wind comes around I won't flash anyone since they're actually shorts. Jasmine and I styled it almost identically this time with sandals and a lace top. Great minds think alike, right? Now if only I could get my hands on some Swedish Hasbeens from H&M like Jasmine. The H&Ms I've visited have all been sold out of them. :(

I can't wait until we're reunited in September for NY Fashion Week. It's only a few months away and I'm counting down the days. I miss this girl to death and I hate that we only get to see each other once a year. California and New Jersey need to get a little closer together - we couldn't be more far apart in the country!

Now I'm off to go enjoy the beach for the third time in the past week. It was a little bit foggy and windy when I went yesterday which made for the perfect kite flying weather! It was on my 2011 to-do list in the beginning of the year to fly a kite and now I can cross it off! Although the kite itself fell apart only after a few minutes (I'll fix you, don't you worry) it was still a pretty awesome feeling. :)

Construction Zone

It's been a week since I've moved out of my on-campus apartment and I love being home. Being with my family, eating home cooking, and driving around in my car are some of the best feelings in the world. Oh, and not having classes is a pretty wonderful feeling too. Hooray!

Being at home also means I will be taking more self-portraits. I drove over to my most recent favorite self-portrait spot and there happened to be some construction vehicles sitting around. I must have looked extremely awkward to all those cars driving by on the highway behind me. I love how the pictures came out though and I didn't mind all the dirt I got on my dress. :)

Silly Band via Jeremy

I never thought I would be able to pull off a maxi dress due to my height (or lack of height) but when I tried this one on I just couldn't resist. This maxi dress is definitely one of the most comfortable things I own. And yes, that is a silly band on my wrist. I forgot to take it off for these pictures - my boyfriend gave it to me so wearing it is a nice little reminder of him.

So Take a Step Back and a Breath In

I know, I know, I know - I've been a completely lousy blogger. I haven't updated this blog in over a week which is the longest it has ever gone without an update. Life has just been a little bit busy with my brother's college graduation, moving out of my apartment, and finishing up my to-do list left over from finals week. Now I am officially home for the summer and I'm dreading unpacking.

My mom took these pictures the other day - she's the most adorable photographer I have. She'll probably be taking the majority of my photos this summer since 1) I won't have time to take self-portraits and 2) my photographers are either studying abroad or interning. It'll be a nice mother-daughter bonding session every time I have to take outfits pictures now. :)
