March Madness

So while I'm waiting for my replacement camera to come in (goodbye, refund check!) I decided to share with you guys a few pictures from my phone during the month of March.

1. For St. Patrick's Day I headed into Philly with a few of my friends for their Erin Express Bar Crawl. One of my friends decided to wear her Irish flag as a cape which was beyond epic.
2. Erin Express Bar Crawl Insanity
3. My friend Margaret's 22nd Birthday!
4. NJ Circle K District Convention Planning Insanity - I left my printer unattended for 2 minutes and this was what I came back to.
5. Cathy's exhaustion during District Convention
6. The Hixson I was awarded and the giant picture frame my District Board put together for me :)
7. Raging post-District Convention
8. Um, Doritos Locos Tacos - best thing in the whole entire world?
9. Catching up with my friend Rob with some om noms
10. My life is Draw Something. Play me: jennifhsieh

Oh, and did I mention Instagram is finally available for Android phones? The obsession begins now.

Guess Who's Back?

Jasmine and I haven't done a Dynamic Duo post in the longest time. In fact, the last time we collaborated on a post was back in November! We even missed our Dynamic Duo Two Year Anniversary back in February due to our horribly, hectic lives. To make up for it, we both picked out a new Dynamic Duo item a few days ago and I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail. Until then, Jasmine and I decided to style up an old item of ours that we haven't worn lately: our sailor shirts! I love being able to share the same item in my closet with this girl - it keeps us connected even though we're miles apart from one another. Closet sisters? I think so! We're planning on visiting each other during this year. I really need some California sunshine in my life so I'm hoping I get a chance to fly over to the west coast. I haven't been on the west coast since I lived in California over ten years ago and I really miss it.

Forever 21 Skirt

H&M Swedish Hasbeens Shoes
Hautelook Ring

Last Friday I realized that I have either misplaced my camera or had it stolen. I turned my apartment upside down looking for it and I haven't found it anywhere. I even looked inside my freezer and in-between my couch cushions! I was pretty much going insane. Due to this situation, please excuse my lack of outfit posts during the next few days. It has also been another crazy weekend which adds on to my lack of energy or motivation to post about what I'm wearing. I'm really hoping my camera turns up by then but for now I treated myself to a brand new camera with some money I was saving up. Cross your fingers for me! :)

Difficult to Leave, Impossible to Forget

This past weekend was New Jersey Circle K's 48th Annual District Convention and as District Governor I was pretty much the head honcho for the entire weekend. It would be too complicated to explain on my blog but basically all of the Circle K clubs within the state got together to celebrate our past year of service, leadership, and fellowship. We also elect the new District Board for the upcoming year! I spent the entire weekend running around the hotel like a hot mess because I'm a perfectionist when it comes to planning events. But in the end it was completely worth it because people were saying it was the best convention they've been to in a really, really long time - and this includes people that have been to these conventions for years and years. I could not be more proud of my entire District Board and all the members within the state.

I have never cried so much or felt so, so, so much love in one weekend. I'm still in amazement right now and, regardless of all the obstacles that came my way this past year, I've gotta be one of the luckiest people in the world. This weekend just reminds me that I can accomplish more than I ever hoped to (thanks to all of the help and support from the amazing people in my life) and that there are people in the world who love me - every single part of me. That's all I could ever hope for. I remember when I was giving my Governor's farewell speech on Sunday morning, I looked out at the crowd and I felt so incredibly proud.

Madewell Sandals

Now I'm back in my on-campus apartment and I'm trying to heal. I overexerted my body this past weekend and got barely enough sleep to function. As a result I've lost my voice and my entire body is in pain. I definitely need to rest up and get my health back in order. In the mean time, I took these outfit pictures about a week ago when I went dropped by home to visit my family before the convention. I haven't worn my Madewell shoes in the longest time so I took them out of their box while the weather was still beautiful.

Only Man She Want

This upcoming weekend is my District Convention for the community service organization I'm a part of, Circle K International. For those of you that don't know, I serve as the District Governor which means I'm in charge of the entire New Jersey District. This Convention is one of the biggest events of my service year and there's a whole lot riding on my shoulders. I've been working my ass off with my board members for the longest time and I still can't believe everything's coming to an end in only a couple of days. It'll be nice to have the stress gone but it's going to be so heartbreaking turning over the position to the newly elected Governor. It's going to be a super bittersweet experience. I'm pulling an all-nighter tonight to get all my speeches written. I never know how to properly say what I want to say - especially when I know I'll be talking to a crowd of over one hundred people. I'm just hoping I don't pass out since I'm insanely tired right now.

Kenneth Cole Watch

Due to my Convention I'll be absent from my blog until Monday so I apologize in advance for the lack of updates. Don't miss me too much! ;)

In the meantime, enjoy these pictures of my bare legs in the beautiful, summer-like weather. My roommates and I are taking advantage of the sunshine tomorrow morning and taking a quick trip to the beach before our classes. Hopefully I'll still be able to wake up even from my lack of sleep!

You Got Me Lifted

It's officially spring tomorrow and I could not be more excited! The weather outside was beautiful - the sun was shining and there was the perfect breeze where it's not too cold and not too windy. I love that good weather has the ability to put almost everyone in a better mood. I'm stuck inside doing work for my Convention that's coming up on Saturday but I still can't help but smile knowing that the entire week is full of amazing weather. The one downside that comes with Spring was that I felt my eye allergies kicking in. It's time to stock up on some Visine!

H&M Cardigan, Tank Top, Belt
Zara Skirt
Finale Sunglasses
Aldo Wedges

Every time I wear these shoes it always amazes me how they make my feet look two sizes smaller. It's a bit of an odd look but I love them too much not to wear them. Wearing wedges in general gives me a nervous feeling, now that I think about it. It all started a year ago when I was crossing the street in a pair of my favorite wedges. I stepped in a pothole and literally face-planted in the middle of the crosswalk. To make it worse, the light was green so I wasn't even supposed to be crossing, so a few cars had to wait until I got myself back up. I'm pretty sure I flashed everyone too since I was wearing a skirt. So now whenever I wear wedges I get the sensation of face-planting. Epic fail.

But now I must go detox my body after my spring break and catch up on loads of work. SO PUMPED.

Harlem and the Whale

I went into the city Wednesday night to hang out with one of my best friends. Since he graduated a year before I did, I don't really get to see him often (and train tickets into the city ain't cheap). I took advantage of my spring break to visit his apartment in Harlem which is not as scary as people make it out to be. But then again, I was in the good part of Harlem so that might explain it.

He took Thursday off from work so we were able to roam around the city late at night and go bar hopping near the Columbia area. It was pretty cool seeing a different kind of college crowd out and about compared to the usual college crowd I'm used to at my University. Overall it was an awesome night and the main thing I can remember is just laughing non-stop. Definitely the sign of a good night. :)

The next day we both woke up extremely groggy but, after splashing some water on our faces and refreshing ourselves, we decided to venture out and take advantage of his day off. We headed downtown to Chinatown and grabbed some delicious dim sum (I seriously can't get enough of that place). That's where we took these pictures - I happen to look kind of silly in most of them since he wouldn't stop making me laugh. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon in the Museum of Natural History. I've been craving a visit there ever since I watched The Squid and the Whale last year. I don't remember if I my parents took me to the museum when I was much younger but it felt like my first time there all over again. Of course my favorite room is the one with the model of a blue whale hanging from the ceiling. The atmosphere there (if you subtract all the kids screaming and crying) is beautiful.
