Stripes at the Shore

This has been a fun yet exhausting week. One of my best friends from high school, Phebe, came to visit NJ for a week. She had moved to Texas after our high school graduation and I haven't seen her for the past three weeks. If any of you remember, I used to have a fashion blog with her about two years ago (as you can see I've developed into my own style over the years - no laughing!). She caught a flight back to Texas this morning and I'm finally ready to get some sleep in and get some work done. Maybe I'll sneak a visit to Texas next year to visit her. :)

This is one of my favorite outfits lately just because of how effortless it was. My favorite outfits are usually my most simple outfits - or maybe it's because I have nice memories associated with this outfit. Jeremy and I took a trip down to the shore before any of the crazy beach-goers could populate it with their beach chairs and tanning sessions. I love tanning on the beach (although not currently as I am suffering from a horrible stomach sunburn) but my favorite beach visits are on the cloudiest of days where there are only a few stray visitors walking along the boardwalk.

Dynamic Duo Rompers

I present to you another Dynamic Duo post! This time around, Jasmine and I both chose this gorgeous, floral romper from Forever 21. I love that it looks like a dress but when the wind comes around I won't flash anyone since they're actually shorts. Jasmine and I styled it almost identically this time with sandals and a lace top. Great minds think alike, right? Now if only I could get my hands on some Swedish Hasbeens from H&M like Jasmine. The H&Ms I've visited have all been sold out of them. :(

I can't wait until we're reunited in September for NY Fashion Week. It's only a few months away and I'm counting down the days. I miss this girl to death and I hate that we only get to see each other once a year. California and New Jersey need to get a little closer together - we couldn't be more far apart in the country!

Now I'm off to go enjoy the beach for the third time in the past week. It was a little bit foggy and windy when I went yesterday which made for the perfect kite flying weather! It was on my 2011 to-do list in the beginning of the year to fly a kite and now I can cross it off! Although the kite itself fell apart only after a few minutes (I'll fix you, don't you worry) it was still a pretty awesome feeling. :)

Construction Zone

It's been a week since I've moved out of my on-campus apartment and I love being home. Being with my family, eating home cooking, and driving around in my car are some of the best feelings in the world. Oh, and not having classes is a pretty wonderful feeling too. Hooray!

Being at home also means I will be taking more self-portraits. I drove over to my most recent favorite self-portrait spot and there happened to be some construction vehicles sitting around. I must have looked extremely awkward to all those cars driving by on the highway behind me. I love how the pictures came out though and I didn't mind all the dirt I got on my dress. :)

I never thought I would be able to pull off a maxi dress due to my height (or lack of height) but when I tried this one on I just couldn't resist. This maxi dress is definitely one of the most comfortable things I own. And yes, that is a silly band on my wrist. I forgot to take it off for these pictures - my boyfriend gave it to me so wearing it is a nice little reminder of him.  

So Take a Step Back and a Breath In

I know, I know, I know - I've been a completely lousy blogger. I haven't updated this blog in over a week which is the longest it has ever gone without an update. Life has just been a little bit busy with my brother's college graduation, moving out of my apartment, and finishing up my to-do list left over from finals week. Now I am officially home for the summer and I'm dreading unpacking.

My mom took these pictures the other day - she's the most adorable photographer I have. She'll probably be taking the majority of my photos this summer since 1) I won't have time to take self-portraits and 2) my photographers are either studying abroad or interning. It'll be a nice mother-daughter bonding session every time I have to take outfits pictures now. :)

The Two of Us Could Run

My last final is tomorrow night and I'm ready to just throw my hands up in the air and surrender. Summer is so close that it's almost painful. My motivation to study has gone out the window - in fact, studying is exactly what I should be doing right now since I already scheduled the rest of my night around not studying. All I wanna do is take naps. Multiple naps. And maybe throw in some episodes of Hey Arnold! in there while I'm at it.

I love that it's warm enough to run outside with bare legs. I also love that there's more time in the day to just relax. Just before taking these pictures my roommate and I bonded over some Chipotle, went to Starbuck's frappuccino happy hour, and people watched for a good, solid hour.

I better get back to studying now if I'm going to go out later. I'm catching up with some old friends over some good old dining hall food and then I'm going to go see THOR with the boy. Just saying the title makes me feel like a BAMF. I'm gonna go kick down a door now.

Never Looking Down

Two down, three more to go - I can't wait for finals to be over. I told myself I would spend the whole entire weekend stuck in my books but I'm easily distracted (hence the updating of the blog). What's even worse is the weather outside is absolutely beautiful. Mother nature is such a tease. Maybe if I get enough work done before passing out on my bed I'll treat myself to some field frolicking tomorrow afternoon. Or actually street frolicking is more like it since there aren't any decent fields on my part of the campus.

I love wearing this dress from ASOS since it's so light and low-maintenance. The light blue color is also really refreshing and a nice alternative to white. These days all I wanna do is wear my pajamas though. Speaking of pajamas, I'm abandoning my studies and I'm going to go curl up in bed now. Studying can commence once again tomorrow morning. Good night (morning). :)

It's Not What You Think

Please excuse the absence of my face in these pictures - I have not turned into Samara from The Ring. This is one of those outfit shoots where I just didn't like my face in any of the pictures because I'm being very insecure about myself. I always tend to like the pictures where my face is hidden even if it is a little sketchy.

Tomorrow is the last day of classes and I'm so excited to be done with this semester! Starting Wednesday I'll be entering finals and I have five this semester to study for. I might not have as many outfit posts so bear with my lack of posting. :)
